Starcraft 2 preview
PCGamer has done an extensive preview of Starcraft 2 – 9 pages in total. There’s quite a bit of new information that has surfaced.
For starters, the article confirmed that there will be NO HEROES in Starcraft 2. So if you think the marine in the trailer is some kind of a hero unit, you’re wrong. Though you could be right when it comes to the Starcraft 2 single-player.
Another interesting bit comes in the form of a screenshot (blurry, I know). Remember when I discussed the Protoss Colossus? I said it likely substitutes the reaver. As you can see in the screenshot, reavers are alive and kicking butt. So no substitutions.
In addition to the new Protoss units announced, I see that my favorite caster is here to stay: the High Templar with its Psionic Storm. In addition, he’ll bring a new spell that will create a force field to trap enemy units and create barriers.
There’s one unit that I haven’t seen before – the Protoss Tempest. This “dark” carrier will have use fighters to attack targets and its special is a force shield that will only activate when hit from the ground.

Yay! I actually always liked the Reavers; in groups, the sheer damage they did made them worthwhile, though anything as fast as my grandmother could run circles around them and they required a lot of micromanagement.
Thank Heaven that there are no heroes. I hated heroes in Warcraft III. They unbalanced the game; it’s poor game design, in my opinion, to make it to where three people can take on an army and win in an RTS. We bitched about this when it was in Command and Conquer and the Soviet’s stupid Mammoth Tank could just stop anything it met. Giving it a new name does not mean that it isn’t still bad game design.
As for High Templar? Hell yeah!

i have to say i will miss heroes it adds effect to a story line when your brave terren hero battles a hundred zerglings… come on thats a key feature in RTS
but i will buy and love SC2 when it comes out no matter what features it has

There will be heroes in SINGLE PLAYER but no hereos when it comes to competitive multiplayer.

When will it come out damn it!?I was gonna lose my eyes somewhere when i watched a gameplay movie!And one more thing.I think that the protoss mothership is a little bit like a hero but az i heard it’s hell exspensive so no problem with it!

I think it looks pretty gay i love starcraft 1 it is defenatly a great game but i don’t like the new graphic design in SC 2 i do like how you didn’t add hero’s i think that hero’s are very gay SC2 how ever i will probly buy SC2 just becuase its looks mediocer… Big disapointment id say… Blizard your loseing your touch, you should have tried to add a new speices that has never been thought of and maybe kept the same graphic design the 3D thing sucks balls… Well better luck next time…

kk listen star cragft 2 i think is for die hard fans its a big change from the old one so i guess it depends on your taste but i for one like how it is going but true i do wish there was anew race

I can’t wait for it to come out. The reavers in the pic looked fake to me. They were fuking huge compared to the building it was attacking.
