Y is everyone dissing WoW? Its not actually as kiddy as some people have put down. If u felt dissapointed in it i understand that if diablo 3 showed up just like it u would go to the game store with a chainsaw and rip diablo 3 to peices. but dont. i like WoW (dont comment please) and i like diablo. they keep to themselves. blizzard is not trying to make another WoW ( they got the new expansion coming up y make another) im sure that even if it had kiddy colors it would have blood and that blood would splatter over every inch of the screen if u wanted it to. i just noticed this is a long post

Also even though i cant wait for diablo 3 i am a bit dissappointed to hear that classes will be lessened. y? i wanted more skills for the classes and even more classes so that everyone could be original in his/her own way. yes WoW tried this (and apparently failed, so jacked) but comon, not only colors but it becomes tiresome to see the same old character over and over again. these r just my thoughts. YAYAYAYYAYAY GO BLIZZARD!!!!!!!!

My sincere apologies for the double post.. But, I have one last point I would like to make. Generally I try to avoid such breaks in polite conduct such as double posting, but, I care enough about Diablo to be a little bit blunt.

To make my point, let me start with a fact. I don’t like WoW. As a matter of fact, I HATE WoW and curse its very existance. However, even if Diablo III still comes out looking almost exactly like it, it is very likely I would bite my tongue, and play it anway. The brightness, animation style, and overall look of the game could really mean less to me. That is, however, assuming it was actually Diablo.

I’m not going to lie about this; I am sincerely worried about what I am hearing in regards to less monsters, no potions, and queer little floating life orbs. Please, Blizzard, please, I beg of you.. Do not bastardize this game into some sort of cheap arcade entertainment. Nomatter what the game looks like, I will play it because it is Diablo, and it holds a special place in my heart. But if it ceases to be Diablo, I will not hesitate to turn my back on it and never give it a second glance.

I, personally, don’t like the new splashes of colour at all.. I mean, look, I can respect that they’re trying to revamp the world and bring in something new, but all the same, I feel an obligation to still put my foot down upon it as best I can.

Diablo has always been a gothic, dark, and gruesome game, not some cheery WoW remake. Those of us who bear allegiance to Diablo are generally deeply attatched to its much more sinister themes, and I know that I myself and many of my friends whom I represent within this post, are somewhat offended by the sudden lack of sinister flare. The point of Diablo was never to be beautiful, fun to look at, and filled with glowing colour schemes. It is intended to be shadowy, gruesome, violent, and filled with sincere sword-to-demonic-carapace combat. I mean honestly, Hell is rising. How does that in any way indicate a sudden need for lots of colour? It doesnt. It implies, coldhearted and brutal warfare, and thats what we’ve come to love and expect from the Diablo series.

I realize this is probably not the view of everyone, but, to voice the opinion of me and my friends.. From what we’ve seen, we feel that the only thing that truly carries on the Diablo spirit from this game that we’ve seen so far, has been the artwork. We humbly ask for a little more use of Diablo’s traditional roots, and less mockery from WoW style animations. ((WoW is an unholy plauge, Amen.))

I really look forward to playing D3 but I think it would be best to keep single player/Battlenet mode so it doesnt turn into WoW and more people will play it this way.And i have to agree with Death’s Advocate that the game really has a goth look to it but that what a lot of gamers love about it and adding too much colour to the surroundings will probabbly be a putoff.Even if Blizzard does turn the colur some into super mario palette I’ll still play the game cuz it has a great storry and I want to see it through to the end.

Apart from that whats the deal with Diablo fans hating WoW nad the other way around.There both good games although i had higher expectations for WoW its still pretty good apart from the online play only part.

So when is it comig out ?

The Colors won’t affect the actual game play guys relax its still the same guys making it they know what they are doing. When The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker came out I was a little hesitant to be honest but that game was awesome. Don’t knock it before you try it. Hey you never know a more colorful game would probably appeal to a bigger audience which would be good for blizzard.

I just want to know how many of you people complaining about p2p are willing to do any work for no money? in d2 Blizzard North put out a lot of additional content for the game but had to stop after a few years cause the developers cant afford to spend time making shit for free. When you have a great game like d2, and hopefully d3, paying for additional content is like paying for a small expansion on the game, and keeping it the maintenance up. the principal of the matter is why should we expect to keep getting small expansions on to our games for free? If it were a mod community i would understand but this is official blizzard content (not to mention Blizzard quality). d3 prolly wont go p2p but i get pissed when people get so butthurt for paying for more stuff in their games.

Also vibrant colors in games is not a bad thing, you can still have a dark game, in a metaphoric sense, with color in the game.

Prepare yourself for a rant if you are going to read this

Most people on here have been dissing WoW. but I have heard it has its perks, say for instance you can xfer really easily, I would love to see that in Diablo three because dropping your shit in someone elses game is a shit show, and so is buying a whole other comp to put another copy of diablo onto just so you can xfer your stuff safely :S I’d also like a customizable character because every fricken pally in d2 was african, and lets face it In Middle ages Europe there were no people of african decent and they sure as hell wouldn’t have been paladins. The barb could have been black that would have been alright, or the amazon could have been darker since in the amazon you would not likely see a white tribes person

I personally think the colors are good, my reasoning is for one you can see where the fricken enemies are attackin you from better that way, unlike the stygian dolls from the durance in d2, damn they pissed me off, and my second reason is the BLOOD SPLATTERS ALL OVER THE HAPPY LITTLE FLOWERS, the dark red blood has a good contrast from the grass, If you have ever seen Happy tree friends thats what it reminds me of, nice and twisted slaughter in a pleasant peaceful environment >:D and I’m sure that they will have dingy gothic dark dungeons aswell, but ones that are designed better with more definition so you can see what the hell is goin on as you play. I’m almost %100 certain that as the game progresses the atmosphere will become more gloomy. And they will have night and day again and rain and changing weather effects, who knows in this game the weather might atcually effect you attacking ability and magic.

As for the strategic battle, I’m not so sure, you step out of the way of attacks, hell thats what i did in both other diablo’s thats how you stay alive is it not? unless you have about a hundred percent faster attack speed and massive life steal

and if its p2p I’ll be very disappointed in them, they make millions and millions off of wow every year they shouldn’t need to be greedy enough to steal money out of diablo fan pockets

I like the colors more than the non-colorful. I don’t totally like the idea of it taking 4 people to kill one boss. I liked playing single player on d2 sometimes. But i think it should be based on how many people are in the game like d2. Really lookin forward to it either way

i am LOVING the idea of no potions. remember in PVP when you were killing someone. he/she ran. came back with full HP? yeah remember that THEN tell me the No-potions idea sucks…

somewhere around here i noticed a post about adding the Warlock and paladin classes. yeah dont even bother thinking this twice. they are trying to build massiveley unique classes. they wont add anything they have done before. they only put the barbarian class because he is a good hack/slash character. which is what Diablo is all about.

im pretty sure Blizzard is smart enough to know that they should even CONSIDER pay 2 play subscription plans for diablo. trust me people its not ‘gunna happen. honestly…

im…not exactly liking the full Co-op idea 100%… the fact is that if it takes a while to kill a boss with a group of friends. and an item drops that everyone could use. the faster clicker gets it… isn’t that kind of fucked up? it would be pretty cool to make characters have an individual loot drop. so if a SUPER RARE item drops. only one player can see it. and loot it. maybe? judging on how the Co-op will be ofcourse. i dont know.

Im deeply troubled by these news …

No more potions?! its part of the strategy of playing Diablo - the correct and timely use of potions and stuff ..

Less characters?! … personally I never liked the barbarian, it never had any cool effects into it, only bash and slash … and the witch doctor reminds me of some vudu healer … sucks! I just jope they come up with Warlock, Paladin, or maybe even introduce non-human characters a bit D&D into Diablo wont hurt it …

They should combien the darkness and colours, meaning, have darkness but where its lit, have it full lit …

anyway, Im expressing my opinion, so please dont bother by responding to it, cuz personally I dont give a sh*t what anybody thinks …

FIRST OF ALL!! Blizzard is not going to realease another diablo that includes anything that gamers, like myself, dont like about Wow, Including Pay To Play.
They are making a game that Diablo players are gonna want to play. They don’t let their gamers down, they never have and they never will.
If ppl want to nit-pick about colors.. HAHA… let them. Go ahead and stay addicted to your D2.
I have Been severly addicted to D2 since it was released. Since then i have had, and gotten over, several intense drug addictions:: D2 remains. To me this is extremly exciting and i cant wait.

I like the 3d part and the whole USing the map around you to crumble walls and stuff. The picture and color is excellent. But Trust me its not gonna be bright like that all the time >.< I got pretty bored of d2 cause of the graphics and the walking of the char, but i still played cause i like the game. But i hope this isn’t p2p like WoW. ( Once a WoW player annoyed by constant paying )

So far the gameplay looks amazing, i don’t know how i feel about there being no potions, regardless of there being the red life orbs, but still the game looks awesome, i don’t see the problem with more colors, i loved the first two diablos and i garuntee that this one will be better then the previos two. Having more colors in the gameplay cant hurt, plus it ads to the gameplay making it more dynamic, it still has the firmiliar diablo enviroment inside the dungeons, but now having the outdoor gameplay does it make it a lot more interesting.

For all of those who think that WITCH DOCTOR class is a new one and a first,sorry to disapoint you,but there is a class just like that in the game LOKI,and even the skills are more-less alike…
I just hope that there will be some new classes(maybe in the expansion???) that are different from all the other fantasy RPG-s…i would like to see what sorts of skills and stuff would be made if there was a vampire class(if u played SACRED,well kinda like that)…i mean you can’t make a mistake if you stick to traditional classes(dual-wielder,pounder melee class/barb,one-hand/shield melee/paladin,magic/sorcery,curses/necro,witch doc…) but something new would be refreshing…

One more message for all of those black and white guys:
Diablo 2 was released in 2000…TECHNOLOGY HAS ADVANCED FROM THAT POINT…

Keep the colors, but add a tinge of gray. And pleaaaaaase, pleaheheheheheheheheheaaaase, don’t make it pay to play. It isn’t so much that i can’t afford to do it, it’s the principle of the thing. First of all, why should we have to pay twice for a game, and if this game is anything as good as the trailers make it out to be, I will be paying for this game more than a few times, and that is b.s. The gaming community has been nothing short of loyal to Blizzard. We have payed for many a lunch you fuckers have had. Do what ever it takes to make this game unhackable and impossible to copy, but don’t alienate your followers by putting your hands in my pockets. You know, come to think about it, I would almost be willing to pay a one time only fee to play, but i don’t think i could bare the insult of someone thinking that were stupid enough to continue paying for a game(no slight to WoW players… dumb asses). Anyways, Blizzard guys, you rock. I’m in school taking computers graphics and animation because of your games and cut scenes, don’t brake my heart. Jackasses.
