I was going through some of the main game sites (gamespot, IGN, etc.), looking for new info on Diablo 3. I stumble upon GameSpy’s Diablo 3 page. No info but when you look closer there’s a table where it says:

Genre: Action, Adventure
Release: Date TBA 2006
I hope they know something we don’t! My gut feel is Blizz will announce it at E3 in 2007. 2006 seems too close for a sequel to Diablo 2 to be released. Blizz can definitely release a Diablo 3 trailer and a few screenshots … otherwise it’s like Rambo 4 which has been coming out for years!

there is not going to be a diablo 3 because the guys that made it left blizzard and created flagship studios and are working on a rpg/ hybrid shooter called Hellgate: London

Really hope that Diablo 3 will be released this year - I have been playing 1 2 and LOD, I have finished all quests with all characters and currently just doing item runs with my Barb.
Does anybody know if they are going to change the look of it - hope they don’t change it to 3d, i always used to play worms and loved it, but when they changed it to 3d they lost me.
On the 19th they will make a big announcement… Either Starcraft 2 or Diablo 3. Honestly I would be happy with both. (although moreso D3…) I just hope they dont revert to a fps type game… Or make you pay for Bnet. That would piss me off not to buy it.

they should really reconsider their decesion about the d3 and starcraft thing cause there has been a large expanse of time between L.O.D. and any newer versions of diablo and it has also proven itself to be a exceptional game for anyone that plays it. starcraft on the other hand whenever i play it it will freeze up, isnt very hard to figure out and there isnt very many major decesions that u can make in the game.

According to a message sent to WoW Guru by former Blizzard employee Chris Hartgraves, Diablo 3 takes place in heaven. Hell is trying to take it over and it is AWESOME looking … Imagine the brightness of heaven being taken over by the darkness of hell … Imagine WoW but in a Diablo world in amount of size and playability … Also, guild housing is available in this game for those of you who know about it. They should have a gameplay demo to show at BlizzCon.

i agree with jdogg… WoW has been getting to much attention, now with a expansion set every year. i guess its a good thing most WoW players are now being shunned from society at most lvl’s as the lose friends to RAID, which will take 4 hours if not more. Diablo would be the shit if it kept the 2.5d birds eye view. Even with the 3d view it would still be awesome but as long as it isn’t a WoW clone… I also would like to see the massive killing fields kept instead of the 1v2, 1v3 style game play. It doesn’t really matter to me because no matter what as long as it comes out im gonna get it because D2 LOD was the single best game ive every played, srry blizzard but WoW, Starcraft Don’t have shit on Diablo. Sorry for posting something this long, just thought i would speak my mind as a loyal Diablo player.
As a relative newcommer I think D3 is a good idea. I am almost through D2LOD for the first time and am only level 30. I have played very few computer games but this is the best! It would be nice to have some place to look forward to going once I beat Baal, other than Hell and Nightmare levels of the same game…… although I will do that.
As an employee for Bliz Ent. we are working hard upon making a new diablo format with new characters and a new game style platform. This does not mean we will change diablo to a MMO basically just improve what we have with the DIablo 2 format. This will be an ongoing progress but relax Diablo 3 will not be left aside we are working as fast as we can to achieve the best game play for this Diablo franchise. We announced that Diablo 3 will be coming out in GGC 2006 by the Bliz Ent CCO Paul Sam’s. So everyone please be patient D3 will be out in due time.
