Update: A new rumor puts the Diablo 3 release date on 09-09-09!
A recent rumor that Diablo 3 will be released BEFORE Starcraft 2 actually prompted Blizzard to officially address the issue of the release date.
Here’s the summary in short: Battle.net 2.0 will be released simultaneously with the release of Starcraft 2. The best guess for that is early 2009, with a Starcraft 2 beta coming out late in 2008.
So Diablo 3 will come out AFTER that … possibly by the end of 2009. An encouraging news will be if Blizzard have a playable “demo” at Blizzcon.
Update: Here’s the quote from Rob Pardo (Wired blog):
A lot of the way we develop is: We wanna make sure the game is really fun and the visual fidelity we want … we wanna make sure we have a small area that feels really done so we know what to build. So even though it looks really complete a lot of the content is just not there. We have a long ways to go to build each of the different acts in the game and put in all the quests and all the different monsters. We have a lot of development ahead of us before it will be something … It will definitely be out after StarCraft II.”

Same here man, I’ve been awaiting the release of Diablo 3 for I don’t know how long, and I’m sure many others have as well. Just the look of the trailer and graphics from vidz on youtube makes me wanna go out and buy the game

its a great thing to have a new version of diablo. honestly, i haven’t play the diablo 1 yet but already almost finish the diablo 2 expansion set. but you know what guys? i love playing it…. so the question is… mr. game master, when will be the releasing day of this much awaited diablo iii here in my country philippines… i hope that is pretty soon… LETS GET IT ON!!!

Blizzard always has the most wacky release times. My friends are convinced its coming out before Christmas but if it was they would already have the date announced. Diablo II was made in 2000. So this game better be 9 years worth the wait. There is only so many times i can watch the game-play trailer ^_^
Been waiting for this game for 5 years, id rather them not annouce it at all until the week before its released just so I wouldnt spend 12 hours a day watching the game play videos. The old Diablo 2 took about 5 years to complete so its no wonder that Diablo 3 project started last 2005 and is still not available for release. Great things are worth the wait.

yup yup… we are all ready to taste Diablo 3.. ever since Diablo 1 released in playstation1 & Diablo 2 in lan.. im a bid avid fan.. since then im craving for such a game.. and introduced my self to online games but still no game beat it..no match! haha wtf goosebumps.. ill be sure that i will conquer this game Diablo 3… haha.. i will just finished diablo 1 & diablo 2 a hundred times, i guess until Diablo 3 comes… hehehe…
