I still haven’t “upgraded” to Vista for various reasons (hardware upgade pending). I’m on the look-out for the new generation of games that are coming for Vista that take advantage of DirectX 10.
I’ve seen Hellgate London’s trailer as well as gameplay videos but I wasn’t too impressed. The guys there were saying DirectX 10 allows them to do all kinds of character customizations.
Enter Age of Conan. See the trailer below and then download the HD versions. It’s simply AMAZING to look at. If Diablo 3 looks anything close to that, I’m sold.
Note: this low-res version doesn’t do it justice. You should download the high-def versions below:
On the funny side, if you machine can’t play the 720p video smoothly, you probably need a hardware upgrade as well. I know mine can’t.

man if d3 really does come out this year I know at least 20 people who will go out and sit in LINE for that game.. even if its like 60 bucks man. no biggie. d2 came out 10 years ago and people… LOTS of people still play it. and I mean, Lets face it, alot of wow players are ex d2 players who have accomplished almost everything on d2… d3 would wipe out wow sales, we all know it…cant wait, Blizzard, cant wait.
could some one tell me a good website to see some new generation vista games please
I usually go to www.gametrailers.com - they got plenty of HD content (DirectX 10 too).
I really hope D3 won’t require DX10. I want Windows Vista about as much as I want a hard, well aimed punch in the nuts. :s
I highly doubt D3 will have a high system requirement, because every single game in Blizzard history has been made so that almost everyone can use it.
don\’t like vista…but if d3 will come out next year, ppl will have no choice but run d3 on vista…xp is as old as d2 anyway
bought a new computer laptop… i had vista… i love it… everything about it cept… ummm my EV-DO card didnt work with it… had to buy a new one… and oh yea… Warcraft III doesnt work
so i bught diablo II again and still play war3 even though it crashes often…
hope bliz or vista patches
If we’re gonna have to play it on vista, blizzard are gonna get a lot of angry emails…
TBH if I have to play it on vista I just WONT because I cannot afford it at all. I’ll carry on playing Diablo 2 thank you very much. Duelling is still awesome after 5 years…
I bought a new laptop with Vista an my D2LOD won’t work. I have installed and a window pops up saying it’s incompatible.=( Anyone else have this problem?
Not really related to the original topic, but I found that the graphics from “The Witcher” is more amazing than “Age of Conan”. Just a personal opinion. PS: do a search for “The Witcher” on Youtube and you will know what I am talking about.
In response to Katy;
I have the same problem. Tell it to run the game anyway - it should work fine. It works perfect for me anyway!
i cant believe that there is d3 coming this year i want to play it right now i hope there is a new hero let me think like rogue or magician im playing d2 right now
this game is rocks d3 epic like real war i think advance this d3 have expansion right
its reallyhard to play diablo II whehaving windows vta, anyoe has an idea of wuo do cause there is no upgrade ailables on the internet !!
no way you have to get vista for d3, blizz isnt that stupid, they customers would be wastin money on a new comp/vista that some ends might not meet…
I have Windows Vista (pirated lol), anyway If D3 does come out I would be one of thoes people waiting in line for it lol. The DIablo Series Owns! Also Don’t Get Vista with 512MB ram, 64mb video, and 1.6ghz cpu. It sucks with most games. But the Aero Theme is sweet.
ya im havn the same problem i bought a laptop with vista on it and it wont play the game either its really makin me mad. i downloaded the patch already but it still will not work. everytime i try to go play it the graphics are all distorted n i cant c anything. at first i can but then all the sudden the screen flashes a few times n its messed up. n heres exactly wat my computer has on it. its the advertisement.

*320 Gig Hard drive
*512 megabyte NVidia graphics card

I installed Diablo LOD and cant play it. Anybody know if theres something i can do? thanx.
I have Vista and I’ve tried playing Diablo II multiple times without success. I right-clicked on the icon, clicked properties, clicked the compatabilty tab, and then changed the compatability mode to Windows 2000. Other than a fairly slow load time to initially start the program, it runs great even in the thickest of combat.
Hope this helps. If yall have any information that could help it startup faster please e-mail me at : JohnP.Nickerson@hotmail.com
Ever since i got my new computer i coudn’t play diablo II The requirements go up to xp. It’s my favourite ame and i have all requirments. hy can’t they just make patches instad of everyone wasting money to buy the newone fo vista. What if D3 sn’t the same and is a totally ifferentame then the D2? Then tonsof people will be dissapointed. Is there a way i can st my vista to xp the switch bac nce finished playing D2?when i instll it says select 1 mode out of the 2. Do i select the recomended one,or the other on since i got vista? What! it worked… nver used t before.
look, t is easy to get a program torun in ista, right click n te icon or Diablo II or any oth game you are having a problem with. click on th copatibiliy tab at the top, then if you know what version of windows the game worked well in, like XP, then choose to run game as if it is in XP. I am running an old version of Magic the Gathring: Spirits of Shandalar on my Vista latop, in 98 SE mode.
Blizzard will not make D3, the animators and creators of Diablo have left blizzard and started there own company, so if there was to be another Diablo it would not be threw Blizzard
