With BlizzCon ‘09 coming next month, you don’t have to be a genius to tell that Blizzard will have to make some kind of Diablo 3 announcement.
My count of the rumors regarding the fourth character can be boiled down to two:
- Ranged character – the parallel is to the rogue in the Diablo I and the Amazon in Diablo 2
- Knight – similar to the Warrior in Diablo and the Paladin in Diablo 2
Believe it or not, there’s speculation that the Knight is out of the question for Diablo 3 and that Blizzard would like to introduce a truly unique character, like … a Vampire!
I’m betting my money on the ranged character, could be called Ranger or Hunter. A pet is NOT out of the question, though that could be my WoW Hunter talking!
knight sounds good why dont u make him look even better than d2 make him look like tyrial or somethin :L
I’m guessing a Hunter or Ranger too. Maybe with some trapping skills besides a focus on bows / crossbows and a nice pet (wolf / eagle?)
The last class could be anything, but no something similar of the Paladin as Blizzard stated earlier.
I hope they announce a Hunter/Ranger but remember this is a marketing campaign so Blizzard would like to time the character announcements.
My guess is that the more “conventional” character will be announced at this Blizzcon and the fifth character will be kept as the one that will cause the most splash.
So even a Vampire class cannot be ruled out as the Fifth one. Anything that will cause publicity and excitement.
My personal guess at the next class to be announced with be a rogue of sorts. Perhaps a knight/rogue hybrid?
Reason being is that at least one more melee class is a must!
they wont copy the palidin thats for sure, and if there’s one thing they changed about diablo in the sequel is that the classes are unique. vampire seemes typical and DND’ish which is not the BLIZZARD style. i would bet on a melle/range hybrid (DPS). weather thats sword and bow or sword and magic i cant say, but it will be a brilliant twist of either one.
Although some would say it woul d be nice to hold true to the origins of Diablo and cling onto the Palidin / Knight the game must adapt. The next class or classes should be as different from the three already released, not near copies. We all know Blizzard would not do that and I sure what ever they come up with will be as unique and awe inspiring as the rest. Either way we can all agree what ever they are, we are ready to play them!!!

Angel should be the counter part of the paladin from D2 since both of them focuses on defense and all things holy and besides

Angel is overpowering… its not human or mortal-like anymore. besides, we got tyreal back in videoh-action. no point adding a half-godlike thats not gonna work.

why not just a Dark Knight?
gives a bit of dark side for the game other than the witch doc…
an anti-hero with a unique badass attitude, works his own evil path instead of following other bigevils.
skill tree branching?
- rogue master
(application of throwing knives/backstab/poison typical of a blackguard, further allows him to combo wield or preload a pack of knives ready to stab or throw em)(might as well give him a crossbow secondary tree skills)
- simple dark magiks
(vampiric str, fear aura, some abit of copy from WoW deathknights?)
- swordsmanship or mace weapon mastery? or both to make it a combat mastery, heck! give him shield mastery as well.
(kinda makes him look like a nazgul)
The forth classes is reveald, the class is “archist” or something like that, he looks old and worn, and uses books and scrolls, its on the diablo3.com i clickd on the look at world link and down the side there was like i news bit with all new posts, he doesnt appear on the classes page yet, personaly im not over keen on the idea of 3 magic/distance styled chars, the next has to be another up close and vicious, right hope this helps someone or intrest them, hope to hear ur forts

Angel would kill the game, c’mon, a hc angel? U cant kill angels fool… U need normal mortal people from almost real walks of life, not a living god character, u need pirates, hitmen, trackers, real people with skills, or if not human at very least killable, granted no1 wants to die but thats why you play, to get better! Also, the 4th class is going to be something like an arabian desert bandit with light-blades (daggers/rapiers), aiming specialist for bows and crossbows and traps. I would love to see it with wips but that is, I believe, too much to ask for. It would be great to see it fly over chasms Indiana Jones style while the Barbarian jumped and the Wizard teleported.
The fifth and last will be a shapeshifter. I am 100% sure! Probably some feral capabilities, either complete or just partial (something like Wolverine), some paganistic religious spells (maybe auras).
There will NOT be any heavy armour character OR shield class. The barbarian fills that role.

shapeshifter probably wont make out again. bliz might wanna try out a new idea.
also we dont have aura emitting class yet. possibly a priestess might be fitting this spot.

archivist was a joke. why put a second spellcaster? its plain trashtalk when wiz is there. every diablo chars are of unique roles. look back at D2 :
paladin – heavy armor and aura
amazon – physical ranged attacker
sorceress – spellcaster
necromancer – summoner, debuff and support attacker
barbarian – tanker, grunt
druid – summoner, caster and versatile fighter
assassin – shock trooper and traps
to be true to the point;
- druid’s summoned creatures are a spam of old ideas from necro.
- his only uniqueness was shapeshifting.
- his spells are elementally a copy of sorceress.
- assassin traps are summoned and static pieces of trash.
- the idea wasn’t really fresh
if there is a necessary to repeat desert arabic luth golien arc, i think they should throw in one of those dancing/harem girls.
diablo should have a 3 male and 2 female chars. this probably fits here.
give her a pair of daggers/scimitars/chackrums and blade-dancing skills, you recreate a combination of a bard/dancer/aura-type skills. giving you a shock trooper role with aura.
turn her dances into deadly waltz of blades, or erotic body language dance that mesmerize even demons entranced them or stupify them. uniquely she should be most mobile of all the char settings.
Official fourth class released. Its called Monk class… no one guessed that one.
Im looking forward for a Druid again though but better, imagine your character turning into a werebear with D3 graphics oh yeah!!! with better skills of course like thunder clap haha HULK SMASH he destroys his enemies with brute strength he could literally rip you apart when your in near death oh yeah Guts everywhere. hehe

Yeah, lol. Though now i think the last class will be really difficult to determine before release.
What we know is that it will most likely be physical ranged and shapeshifter. How those two will mix I cannot forsee yet. I really think Blizz will blow our minds with this one.
