This is the demo that was given during the Diablo 3 announcement in Paris.

I got really excited when I saw “demo”. But I’ll take the gameplay footage – looks cool! I wonder how long it will take them to release it – the demo makes it look like they’ve already put in a considerable amount of work.

Wow, its been time since D2, glad to see blizzard wasnt sitting around scratching their asses, its a good excuse for dropping D2 like that… Along with the GM support and quality in WoW.
I have a few comment-s about diablo 3 …..1 it seems so much like a old wow game 2 the characters seems to be to little 3 moost of the skills are seems to be like we gonna play MU or wow …it’s like playng cartoon’s….we wait so many time to see this …i don’t now how to say…hibrid bad inspired…of mu and wow…but much more worst and my opinion if you work at this so many time…it suck’s and what the story? man..witch doctor…i laugh when i se that little man …diablo 2 still the best diablo…and normaly blizzard will not make competion to wow with the new d3…so better release a d3 that suck’s and do not let wow players to quit on wow..( $ ) …..you making a big mistkae..rip diablo
This game looks suprah shwing, sure witch doctor is a complete remake of necromancer but you can now select the gender you want to be for your selected class. No more female sorceror for everyone plus im sure every class has like 10 new skills and the old ones have been remodeled to look more Bad @$% than the last. Plus the graphics have been modified greatly compared to the last, and now you can use the environment to destroy monsters. This game has always been fun cuz theres absolutely no intense grinding, leveling your guy is extremely easy and finding good stuff on the ground is simple when you can just bum rush to a boss. This is just one of them games you can just play without a GOAL set like Cabal online or even World of Warcraft at that.

i understand that diblo fans are happy, not for this number three as u see it on this demo, but for the fact that they actually made a number 3, which was a must see for me too, but its just a platform game very typical, and dont mistake it to be something that breaks any limits!!!!
we have all tried to build up our chars and fight pvp but its not so hot any more…it comes in 2009 maybe summer, maybe i just outgrew all this but im not too exited about what i see, but i didnt expect it to be much diferent either…i think it looks a bit too easy, so i hope the quests are tough and maybe changing

To my mind the design outside should be quite the same like it is in the gameplaymovie, because it really looks great
BUT when it comes to dungeons (and bosses) it is a MUST that they stick to typical “diablo colours” because this is very important for the atmosphere
so you can still have a big variety of ambiences

been a fan for year d3 looks incredible i love the fact that they did away with the belts makes game play more entertaining and the way the experience looks to be gained is a lot better its a lot like bailder gate dark alliance . great looking game cant wait to gain another addiction its going to be worse than smoking
My god this is pure insanity – to wait for the release.
First and foremost its crusial that Blizzard takes on the task telling the story in with a touch of sensible respect for the past 2 games.
My greatest worry is that D3 would turn out to be a clone of an later Diablo clone like Titanquest.
Titan quest had all the right intentions but drowned in the wealths of trivial loot and lost its purpose because so much time is spent on the battlefield. The point is to be crackling with delight all the way to the boss because of your new found “morningstar of eternal pain” or something like it.
Secondly, if the loot system works, there is much to discuss about crafting weapons with runes, as in the first two D games.
And its important that Blizzard take that into account.
If the Horadric Cube is an obligatory object we dont know, but hunting those pieces down Luth Gohlein was a good sidekick to the game. You got to hunt something you badly need
About the colours from the ingame presentations i dont know anything yet – I’ve seen too little to make up my mind. As I said before i sincerly hope that the D3 production will get as far away as possible from the likes of the Titanquest game.
When i saw the gametrailer my first impression was hey great, and then i thought the running of the chars looked a little slow or something…but then hey – ill probably find some great boots in the loot somewhere in the acts

Can this DIABLO III matched the TITAN QUEST game?
It seems Titan Quest got the Diablo II style yet an improved graphics and gameplay. LOKI can’t take a lead. But if this Diablo III delivers a new RPG stage (including manual blocking attacks, dodging, zoom control), I think it will be better than the IronLore’s Titan Quest release.
Wish more improvements to be seem on Diablo III release since it wasn’t release to the market yet. But the potion issues, I don’t think that would be good if they remove the potions and antidotes. It’s part of game strategy by the way.

so many rumors have been spread about Diablo 3, such as only 5 playable classes will be available, bosses can instanly kill heroes? (shown in the gameplay video) and if you put points into the wrong skills will you be able to re-specc? If anyone can answer these questions it would be greatly appreciated!
It will be released this christmas. TO be exact, at the end of December.
By the way, the game depends a lot on the player itself, you can make the game boring for yourself or vice versa.
I think the colors are okay. Diablo 2 was quite hard to play in a dark dungeon when the sun was out and shining in from your windows.

I’ve been searching high and low for a dev. quote that includes something to that effect and the only thing I’ve really got on a release date is that at this point they would prefer to only announce a game 1-1/2 years before being ‘finished’
Oh my freakin god i only found out about D3 today it got me in such a rush i reinstalled D2, OMG OMG OMG i just hope that my X800 Pro cant handle it, i really hope it lives up to all the hype its already caused

the weapons look sick, that’s how they should be, but killing enemies with the environment? wtf? that’s not diablo 2, that’s some **** idea. sorry whoever came up with that, but honestly.
aaand I dunno, there’s something… something strange looking about it. it doesnt have the same feel as the other games, I think it is prolly the colours, or the fact that enemies come climbing up walls rather than just standing around aimlessly waiting for you to mash up de place.
ALSO, yeah, there better be a hundred differnt skills for each class, cuz the “skills” that I’ve seen for witch doctor look mentally lame (mass confusion, gash. horrify? what was that?! no no no.) soul harvest looked alright though. OH I JUST FIGURED OUT WHATS STRANGE ABOUT IT, polly the only gameplay we’ve seen is set somewhere thats like the arcane sanctuary, there isnt the regular MASSIVE SQUARE-ISH MAPS that we all love exploring ;D
all well too slow aswell, PLEASE READ THIS BLIZZARD, make sure you multiply the running speed of this game by at least 1.5 cuz the fast paced carnage was what made d2 (Y)

dam d3 looks sick phhh i used to play d2 since way back when in the old days way befor ubers an what not cant wait for d3 hopefully itll be out sometime soon an itll be sicker then 2 it would be a real upset if after all this antisipation it turns out to be some hunk o junk
Some of the things that made D2 so incredible over it’s predecessor Diablo was the many gameplay and game system improvements. Way Points for getting around Quickly, Skill Trees rather then a massive spell and skills unique to each class, Gems and Ruins to enhance existing items. Since we don’t know much about D3 yet it’s hard to say how innovative it will be in these terms.
IMO I feel ridding the player of potion spamming, collection and creation is a Good thing for gameplay. Potion consumption became absurd in D2, the addition of hotkeyed abilities is a solid gameplay improvement (though clearly a WoW inspired invention) over the old pot belt. I agree with the narator that this will create much more interesting combat over the two spell spam of D2. Bringing the environment into the fight is a brilliant idea! Rather then just luring enemies to choke points the player has a host of interesting ways to bring death to his enemies further adding to the enjoyment of combat. Diablo has always been a one man army against countless enemies making combat more interesting then two ability spamming, running around open stages and luring to choke points in dungeons is something I’ve wanted to see since the original.
Graphics wise it does look ALOT more “cheerful” then it’s predecessors. The first time I booted Diablo I was immersed in a “terror” stricken world, things were dark, dingy with hard edges and a heavy goth style thrown about the place. From the gameplay footage it looks strikingly like Warcraft 3, WoW models and environments. There seems to be a loss of the previous goth, dark, dangerous style that dominated the other titles.
Lastly to those who have complained about World of Warcraft as a repetitive game of killing the same monsters for loot and skills diablo is the apex of that! Think of the first to games where you fight the SAME monsters, just with different colors and names, over and over and over and over and over again! WoW’s “Heroic” difficulty is just a re-purposing of Diablo’s Nightmare and Hell difficulties! The real difference is in Diablo when you play cooperatively you don’t have to get involved in the high school politics of guilds or the insentient complaining over game balance. Well that and Diablo was never a kiddy game… hopefully the “feel” of the game will evolve between now and whenever it is released.
I can say that I’ll probably buy it, but if the atmosphere remains this semi cheerful over done fantasy type world then the game play better be kicking or I’ll be trading in shortly there after. Not that blizzard will care much.

I Simply cannot wait playing this game. I Think this will be just as big as D2 when it peaked. It won’t be bigger because of WoW, AoC etc.

The trailer leaves a lot to offer…Graphics look weak compared to contemporary games, fighting looks exactly the same as D2 LOD (big deal, you can hit the furniture to damage the enemy). AI looks improved – I like how the undead were climbing the walls and popped up in unexpected places, that’s cool, surprises in combat are most needed in this genre nowadays. Witch doctor character looks absolutely ridiculus. Perhaps we can Mod him to Sponge Bob and he’ll look better. Big fat Stay Puff Marshmellow boss that spews maggots out to attack you…ummm…bad idea. I really hope that Blizzard can come up with a better product than this. Perhaps they’ll patch it 15 times in an attempt to make it a better game (D2 anyone?). WoW is one of the gayest games ever made. It’s a monster hit $$$ wise but who cares. I’m disgusted that modern games have not adopted a different outlook on programming. How about developing completely random events, random items, freak incidents, real puzzles in real time, take BG2 and really modernize it, all this along with the fact that most of the modern day RPG games just can’t seem to make an opponent look or fight the way they should. Classic example is Oblivion, great engine, complete waste of it – same boring dungeons and monsters, no originality, no real excitement, holy cow, is this the best developers can come up with? Who’s creating these games that do not push the envelope? Here’s a brilliant idea…let’s radomize treasure and magic find to addict players to a game…great, hope they do the same in D3 and piss millions off to no end. I can only hope ;o)

I think I agree with many of the points that D2LODMaster made, but think that it could have been worded with a bit less hostility. What he said about pushing the envelope with new and radical ideas is something that DOES really need to happen in video games these days. I see that a lot of graphical and configuration things have changed with D3, but do also hope that they can adjust the looking glass, or get eye-level with the playing field and see a new facet, a new angle to approach the game, while still, of course, keeping the theme the same. Take the movie Hancock for example. It shows you “a whole new world” (No, NOT of shining shimmering splendor. Sorry Aladdin fans…) of being a super hero, which is what games these days need. Not a whole new dimension like a different crazy fictional planet… just a game that puts gamers into a new dimension of the gaming experience.
people games take FOREVER to be made that contain as least amount of bugs as possible. they began sketching D3 art around the year 2003-2004 so they have been working and had ideas floating about it for a long ass time. people its a game. not a picture.
well to my mind they should make diablo II with a little bit better graphic, another story (more quests) and maybe new items nothing else … u cant make such a good game better by changing the whole gameplay-feeling i mean if i want to play another game i buy another one … and thats teh problem of the programmers they say they want to make it better and different but why better ppl still enjoy diablo 2 after YEARS and YEARS so can they really make it better? i’d say they can’T … but they just want to sell the good name of a game AND please ppl who would say “well its just like the old one …” if quake III arena would be made with same physics, movement and all the old console commands but with new maps, weapon balance and graphics and called quake4 i do believe more ppl would enjoy the game but they know real fans will buy it and cus its different some ppl will buy it that had had nothing to do with it …

Obviously its the Titans Quest engine but to much stuff has been changed into Titans Quest style.
The way you buy and check out your hero is really dodgy.
Change it back to diablo style where your stats on on the left half of your screen and your inventory and equiptment is on the right hand side.
When you chose spells and skills, keep it the same as old version instead of chaning it into Titans quest style.

Alright for the first thing, the Diablo series have never been “Goth” they have been “Gothic”. It’s a HUGE ******* difference. Goth is a subculture from the 80’s based around a musical genre called “Gothic Rock” and no it’s not related to the Gothic era of art and poetry.
The games is inspired by it tho, Gothic NOT Goth.
And so far, I love the way it look. And it’s way to early to say that it’s too “cheerfull” and such comments as they have only relased TWO areas. I mean common, in Diablo 2 there was more then TWO very “cheerfull” and bright areas.
So far I love the way it looks and seems to be playable.

i just really wanted to know if diablo 3 makes it easy for the new players. in diablo2 lod its kind of a pisstake because id you have nothing people wont trade/buy your stuff so its not fair. and what i wanted to know is if they had more options for mercenaries. Like a belt you could fill with potions and he could auto drink so he would die less. Oh well i just hope it isnt a disapointment. Cant wait.

ok i know this sounds to crazy but i have never played any of the diablos before hopefully diablo 3 will be my first.i watched the trailer and man its freaken cool i loved it all!!!!.now some ppl are mad cause of the witch docter charecter but what i dont think there relise is that not all people enjoy the big men that crush skulls.believe it or not some people would rather use magic.(im more of a mesteriouse stealthy elf person)all im saying is that you dont have to use the witch docter if you dont have to it for the people who would rather use him.the destructable enviroment is cool i think its ok.the only bad thing about d3 is it is i must say alot like titan quest.but it still gonna be fun.i like the creativity in the magic and ways of killing i also like the way of how their form of evil comes ex……the cultists summon demons and those fat things exsplode and eel things come to eat you!.o and i looooove the way billions of zombies crawl up ready for hacking.so i really love the game so far

judging by some of the half wit replies recieved re D3 it makes one wonder just how iliterate some of these people are. D3 to me looks no better or worse than any of the previous diablo pc games put out in recent years.I think there are many other games out there that are better and more worthy of spending money on. I for one wont be there on release day. Have a look at some of the “free” online multiplay games and ask yourself why spend good money on something you can get better elsewhere. I gave D2 expansion a 50 out 100 for interest because the game ended to quickly and had no continuity and had to be repeated time and again!!! online multiplayer games for me. I score Diablo 3 40//100 so get what you can out of it then leave!!!
looks friken amazing but if theres a monthly fee FUCK IT.. no game is worth paying for every month or over 200 bucks for life

I love Diablo II, I think I played D2 demo a million times before the full game came out. Played D2 LOD again and again from start to finish with every different character but D1 wasn’t what I thought it would be like, too slow and boring, but the story line was amazing. I found out Diablo III was coming out by chance and it freaked the shit out of me, went up online and searched for every piece of info I can find. Cinematic trailer is brilliant and the game play demo looks good except for few minor details.
Of course now days ppl want better graphics, effects, new things and multi player, but with the same or better game play. From the looks of D3 graphics is like everyone here is saying, just like titan quest, which is true coz come on anyone who has seen or played titan quest can tell D3 looks like that. Granted that texture and effects of D3 are better in some ways but still, they spent years developing this game so they could have developed a new and better graphics engine instead of copying from Titan Quest.
Game play and story was the most important part of the Diablo series. In its predecessors game play was fast and quick, with the fun and inspiration to upgrade ur characters level, find new accessories like magic item, weapons, armors and of course skills. Players wanted to move forward wanting to know the story and see what his/her character could do with every new skill. That’s one of the reason I played with all characters wanting to know what they can do. From the game play video D3 looks kinda slow and the new skill tree looks boring and non original. Im sure Blizzard are not gonna keep everything the same but if inventory, character level and skill level menu becomes complicated or harder to figure out then there is no point to upgrade.
I have played hundred games over the years, of course some games for first time and some sequals. I have always noticed something about sequals. If these game developers improve graphics or change the engine, they ruin game play or story but with D1 and D2 it didn’t get worse but better. So im hoping Blizzard did the same with the new Diablo sequal. Multiplayer option? Screw that why the hell would I wanna bring a friend in to play my quest when im playing solo quests? I have never liked multiplayer games like WoW but still. DIABLO is suppose to be single player game so plz keep it the same.
Its is always fun to have new characters added to the game, witch doctor looks gay! Yes it does but why not.. as long as they have the original characters with improved skills then its fine. Adding new charcter gives player more option and type of game play to choose from. So I don’t think it’s a bad idea. Some ppl belevie witch doctor is a replacement of necromancer, if it is then that’s just sad necromancer was the first character I played with and loved it.
Ok when ppl stared talking about “colors” I figured its about the world degine of Diablo3. ya to original was dark gloomy especially kurast, but in the demo we see a very happy titan quest look like forest where the players join up with other multi player people to beat the shit out of others. Um well that is very titan quest with multiplayer touch makin it like WOW, nothing about that scene was Diablo game play. If you think about it too much dark and gloomy places gets to u after a while when playing. Kurast was just tooooooo huge to walk around it got boring until reaching the city place. So maybe bright new titan quest look alike might not be a bad idea, can be a good change of scenery as long as they don’t over do it. I cant tell unless I play the demo or the game myself.
All in all I am a big fan of Diablo and I am desperately wating for the full finised game to come out. Heard about some leaked demo but cant find it anywhere. According to some ppl the game is suppose to be released 9 9 09, which is a fasinating idea, some say march 27th 09. I just don’t care about rumors I just hope it comes out soon and if they are taking this much time I hope its bug free. I don’t want to buy the game, sit on my pc install it and then when I play the game something goes wrong. That just pisses the fuck out of me. I hope the game testers test the game on different systems, good, excellent and horrible pc so they know the game atleast is bug free.
Cant wait and looking forward to it. If anyone knows when its coming out and where I can find the demo, please let me know asasp.

Wow Shinigami, u wrote allot man. I agree with most point u suggested.
1. gameplay improvement is good but not changing it from the original.
2. graphics and story should be improved, but I think story should continue not drastically changed.
3. more characters (new ones) means different type of gameplay which means u can play the game longer and many times. That’s very true.
4. skill, character level, item menu should be easy to use like D2 otherwise it beats the purpose of upgrading in the new one.
5. if there are bugs in the game, fix it befor releasing the full version. I also don’t want to install and find out it doesn’t work, im speaking from experience. “ gears of war” bought the dam thing and it would refuse to run. Got a high end pc and found out millions are having the same issue. If anything like that im gonna sue blizzard.
6. I like the idea where enemy drops potions or was it health thingy when u kill them. Its easier coz I used to hate carring potions or actually going back to my stash and stockin them up in my belt. So after u kill some baddy they drop some health so u can move on, that’s good.
I also would like to know when the game is gonna be released officially, man if its 9 9 09. that would be cool but until then I want the DEMO. Anyone know where I can get it from….

What They need to do is stop trying to make computer games with gameplay like ps3 and xbox! just release the game for the other systems! D2 was an awesome game, i still play it! just release an update thay does not mess with the gameplay but adds more character and a bigger storyline! if a programmer wants a project then release a new Nox! Nox was awesome but left alot of room for improvement! Thats what i wanna play!

Ok First this game looks awsome ^^ loved D2 and looks like im gonna luv D3 SECOND…..you idiots who think that the demo looks easy are just …..well IDIOTS obv. there gonna have the chars all leveld up fully and stuff for demo play there just showing you how game would look not how easy it might be or it’ll last like 5 hours till end….. think…..before you post. one more thing people making games thats the same genre will have to copy each other it’ll be hard to make your own unique way of doing stuff i mean if you manage to unique it other people will need to copy.
