The characters that appeared in the Diablo 3 announcement were the Barbarian and the Witch Doctor.

I just looked at the stats for my Diablo 2 site. The two most popular characters on the site are the sorceress and the barbarian. Popular in the sense people are looking for specific skill guides and even saves.
I’m wondering which characters will make it to Diablo 3? A pure spell caster should be available, i.e. a sorceror or sorceress of some kind. Then, we need the classic sword - call him barbarian, gladiator, whatever. Blizzard has shown a knack for good (and balanced) mixed breeds - like the Druid or the Paladin.
Looking at the World of Warcraft characters, if Blizzard wants to turn Diablo 3 into a MMORPG they should put a healer of some sort as well. There’s none in the Diablo 2 universe.
there is a healer in diablo 2 the paladin has holly bolt which can be made into a kick ass healer
you’re right! i just never played a paladin… seemed too much like a team character and i mostly played solo, so i played sorceress, barbarian, and necromancer.
Why can’t you just say a date oh my god i am going crazy here i played the diablo’z and i loved em and i really wanna see the characterz. Oh well time to geek my barbarian Cya’z p.s TELL ME NOW!!!
All I can say that by E3 in 2007 we\’ll know more. My bet is Diablo 3 gets announced in 2007. Knowing Blizzard well, that doesn\’t mean we gonna play it in 2007. They\’ll probably take their time for another year
I really really REALLY!!! want to know all this info now! Why is Blizz doing this to us >.
Diablo 2 was a huge disappointment for me. The first one was scary, nothing like walking down dark halls and such with spooky music playing as corpses littered the rooms and walls.
Diablo 2 was…to close to an MMORPG…not enough of you being the hero and too much of you being a pawn for everybody else. What’s an MMORPG going to be like? Its NEVER worked for ANY game. They all get boring, they all get trite, they’re all basically the same game rehashed with a different backstory. I do NOT want to see Diablo in MMORPG form. EVER. In the first game it was all about the character and the plot, in the second game it seemed more about the wanderer than yourself. Sure, watching a story about him is pretty nifty cuz you wonder what happend to your character after the first game. But if I wanted to stay focused on mr warrior I would have kept playing the first game. That didn’t completely urk me. But the already-multiplayer Diablo will be a bloodstain in the gaming world that no necromancer will ever be able to wash. Imagine yourself a mighty warrior, who’s stride is proud, his blade wide, and the blood ablaze in his veins…then some jerk runs up screaming “LOLS FREE MONZ I NUB JUST STARTD PLyNG?!”
Oh yeah …REAL heroic…I can’t wait………I’ve had a tried and true theory that as soon as a gaming community starts using the terms “Build” and “[insert boss name] run,” the game goes down the tube REAL fast in entertainment value. Whats the point to playing an MMORPG?! Do you really enjoy smacking millions of the same enemy day in and day out just for that one preset item drop it just simply refuses to drop? An endless game with zero replay value?
Go here, retrieve this. Go there, kill that. And since its an endless MMORPG it doesn’t get an ending to it, it’s like reading a book but tearing out the last 5 chapters and BURNING them. Diablo was a big hit because it was totally focused on the world through the eyes of the hero you played as, it had a solid ending and even though it ended, it STILL HAS unlimited playing potential. And the game took forever to play no matter how many times you’ve beatin it which meant you wouldn’t do everything there was to do in the game in the span of 10 minutes. Something you CAN do in most MMORPGs.
An MMORPG won’t be half the game Diablo II was, and Diablo II wasn’t even a quarter of the game Diablo I was. Take out the sex (ala succubus) the nightmare (ala bloodied carcasses, violent backstory, and horrible autrocities) and wierd twisted perversion of nature that was amply seen running rampant in the foulest pits of hell present in the first game and you’ve basically got something close to a saturday morning cartoon version of one of my favorite games in history. I spit on Diablo II, while the story was cool, they killed it with their plain/cliche character design and the unrelenting prospect that “Multiplayer is the wave of the futue! der der der.” Not enough time was spent enveloping the character in the realm of the diablo universe, it was too busy unwrapping plot points from the previous game than it was on opening up more venues of historical doom to explore. While they did quite a decent job (and by decent I mean excellent) making Diablo II fun to play, it was only worth playing it once through, after that you’re kind of done. Who wan’ts to run around in a brightly lit desert in extremely unsuitable clothing? “GASP …oh no… a highly visible angry mob of crap I can outrun…or run around. Uh…scary?” No. I bet if it wasn’t for the boss fights you wouldn’t have to kill a damned thing in the game. The monsters where simply there for you to level off of!!! BAD!!! In Diablo I they were the OBSTACLE. You had to make sure, you even took pride in making sure that every last skeleton on the level you were slowly pacing through was dead. In Diablo II the monsters simply respawned for you to kill over and over again. This means that you have to do a lot of needless grinding (oh look theres one of those words that ruin games that I was talking about earlier) just to kill of andarial. In Diablo I, By the time you met up with the Butcher or King Leoric, you were READY. They weren’t easy but it was possible to take them down using cunning, tactic, and what few scrolls you found in an obscure chest among a bunch of barrels that you’d hunt down like they were gods gift to mankind hoping that maybe one out of 20 of them had some gold in it. In Diablo II…well respawning monsters enough said, endless (pointless) economy. Diablo II multiplayer is already an MMORPG. You get bands of people together, trade items, grind, set up builds, and all that boring homework baggage that comes with complicating a decently good story with useless crap like Runes and waves upon waves of monsters that you kill like its your day job.
And its only made worse from there! Why are you going to take out all the cool things in a game that give it some level of tactic, then slap on a patch that makes the game completely harder to play, THEN slap on a bunch of “Fixes” that change everything you knew about playing the game only to make your favorite tactics either pointless or impossible in favor of a more stupid but effective approach? A Piercing bow + Guided Arrow = Tactic. Whats the point of making something cool like that impossible to do if you’re just going to make a patch that makes some OTHER god-aweful-stupid build just as affective? The Necromancer, they made all of his curses basically useless (A WHOLE TREE, FOOF out the window!) Just to up a vastly more devastating poison nova? They deliberately ruined the piont to having iron maiden. At this point a few of you are probably going to devise some sort of useless defense about how it balances game play.
WRONG
Every class had some neato keen impressive trick that the game designers decided were to easily abused, in favor of buffing up easily spammable tactless skills. Necro’s had curses, Amazons had their Arrows, Barbarians had their whirlwinds, so on and so forth. “Hey I have an idea, lets get rid of the things that make each character unique in favor of a more balanced community?” I’ve got a better idea, how about we get rid of classes, and give everyone a class called “Person” with a bunch of really mundane skills that get progressively but not exponentially stronger so that they’re pointless to use when you’d be better off maxing a stat and bashing heads with a club…
In Diablo I, the Warrior was the strongest, he smashed things up close, something the other two classes couldn’t do. The rogue had the advantage of long range something the warrior was near incapable of and the beginner mage couldn’t compete with. And the mage was a walking cannon in the upper levels. Strategy was abundant even though all you had were a bunch of walls doors grates and barrels. Tactic was a must because you couldn’t rush in and start killing waves of horrors like you can in Diablo II. What sense of mortality is Diablo II going to provide when all I have to do is focus every single skill point into Teeth and aim really far away? A wall of glowing light that pierces and kills everything doesn’t make me scared in the slightest to go up against the lord of terror. In Diablo one I can remember turning the lights on before entering the halls of the blind and it still didn’t help. A lonely warrior with no help, backup, or funky weapons of cheaty uber damage, walking slowly through a dungeon fighting foes he can’t see. Running isn’t an option when they move faster than you. You have to go slow, and pick them off well aware that you could die at any moment from an ambush of hidden.
Another thing that urked me was the vastly changing atmospheres of Diablo II, I either didn’t get to spend enough time in the places I enjoyed or appreciated, or I spent to much time in a place I instantly loathed. The first game kept throwing things at you, it was something to find a room full of upside down burning crosses. Something so simple that could outclass all the stupidly useless baubles they have displayed at a desert vending shop. “Oh isn’t that pretty like I didn’t just see that a minute ago at the other shop.”
WE DONT NEED AN MMORPG! WE ALREADY HAVE ONE AND ITS LAME! I give Diablo an A+, and I give Diablo II a B, (yes I know I just spent a hell of a lot of time dissing it but I’m just pointing out the terrible flaws, I’m sure I dont need to point out what makes the game fun because I’m sure all of you already know.) And I give any prospect at a massivly multiplayer online RPG (oh wait…Diablo II…its massively multiplayer…it goes online…and its a role playing game o.O would you look at that) an F for a failed attempt at keeping a franchise going that SHOULDN’T need cheap fads to keep itself alive. Its a decent enough story and I’d be more than happy with another Diablo I with its simple game mechanics, lack of fairness in different respects towards different classes, and a more than developed plot line with a solid ending.
While Diablo II was a great game, it fell extremely short of everything I had come to expect of the masters who created the first, vastly more interesting, and far more terrifying Diablo. Simply because they fell into the Multiplayer trap. It takes away from the story and all the pointless patching to fix purely opinional “imbalances” in game play that were purposefully put in their to begin with to make playing each character class a unique experience with tactic and style. The game designers completely cater to the higher class players only, making it impossible for new comers to fully realize why those high class players enjoyed playing in the first place. Making a game balanced makes a game pointless to play.
Diablo: Interestingly compelling story, 3 Stereotypical BUT uniquely portrayed characters, new visual eyecandy on every level, msyterious shrines, and a total sense that you weren’t playing a game. Spells where discovered in ancient tombs of knowledge, wisdom garnedered from little bits and stories from the townsfolk that you grew to love for their help, and an uncovering of the most powerful school of magery ever concieved who’s soul purpose in creation was to imprison the prime evils.
Diablo II: Tying up loose ends to the previous story, 5 extremely cliche characters (save for the necromancer), all with an extremely broad sense of backstory, being nothing more than rehashed concepts from the previous 3 characters. The warrior was split into the barbarian and the paladin, the rogue was split up into an amazon and a sorceress, and the sorcerer was obliterated in usefulness. Now weapons were exclusive to classes. Spells where strictly built in. No more searching for those lost tombs of knowledge my friend, just kill 4958 hairy gorillas parading around out-of-habitat in a giant forest and get yourself a few perty burny spells out of no where. And a multiplayer base more concerned with getting an armor set than gathering up to kill the greatest threats of terror hatred and destruction the world has ever known.
Diablo was more of a story than a game, it was enjoyable because if you got bored of the story (which you didn’t) you could kill things. If you found a sword and you had the strength, you could use the weapon. Just because you were a Warrior didn’t mean you couldn’t use the bow.
Diablo II was the opposite. It was a killing game with a story around it instead of within it that was coupled with a whole bunch of features that made it seem more like a game than a story. You’ll never see a barbarian using a Katar…what? is his hand to fat for the handle or something? Bogus. It took all the mysticism out of gaining spells and using your latest toy against the denizens of the dead by setting all kinds of wierd requirements to them more akin to your latest rehashed mmorpg than any sort of lens for telling what I believe to be the greatest rendision of the struggle vs the Mighty forces of heaven, and the swirling vortex’s of chaos known all to well in the foul pits of hell. In the first game you were literally killing the stuff of nightmares. In the second game you were killing mutated animals. In the first game you had a feeling about you that every stone every rock every cross every corpse had some hidden story to tell. Every different kind of demon you stopped and paused and thought to yourself “I wonder how that horrible twisted breathing cadaver came into being” And chances are the game told you where it came from and why.
Overlords where the warped servants of an angel clouded by pride captured and tortured by the lord of hatred himself, who’s glowing skin and elegant wings where torn and stretched by barbed hooks and who’s body was warped by the very magics that made the realm of hell.
Tell me, what explains a god damned yetti?!?!
If they can make an MMORPG in such a way where I will never see the word “Grind” on or off the playing field, one that gets me so indepth I not only know why the monsters are there, I know how they came into BEING in the first place, then maybe, just maybe I might not grimace at the thought of any franchise going mutliplayer-global.
Seeing as how Diablo II is already a massively multiplayer online (hardly-)roleplaying game, anything they come up with would be nothing more than a rehashed (such a handy word) Diablo II. Nothing in this world will make me look forward to a community full of high powered gamers who treat everyone else like targets, and a bunch of low level total-noobs(once again if you have to use the word noob in a game, it has already failed) do nothing but annoy you and ruin the atmosphere until you give them what they want or find something else to do other than sit in the middle of town talking to your friends because you’ve already played the game a million times and have nothing better to do with your glowing single handed meter long glowing death sword of blight pain and misery.
Yes it absolutely had to be this long…
Guy, you nailed it. I still remember running around for N-ieth time around the Butcher in Diablo. That bastard was tougher than nails. The atmosphere was pure horror as well.
I hope there are still guys at Blizzard who’d like to work on a hardcore game like Diablo.
lol
Just to address one thing about guy\’s post - I don\’t thing Diablo 2 was a MMORPG just because it provided a multiplayer option. MMORPGs have a persistent universe. Any instance of a Diablo 2 game was like the instances in World of Warcraft. You go in, you kill, you beam out.
Guy you dont know what your talking about in my opinion. Diablo 2 and its expansion were amazing A+ mayne, I spent 3 years of my life on that game.
Also the paladin and all the other characters where good and I think they should just leave them alone and maybe add some more.
SOME GUY NO NO NICE!!!!!I SICK GIZMO ON YOU…………………..GOOD BOY
OMG THEY DIDN”T DELETE MY POST ITS A MIRACLE O_O
Gizmo’s mean T-T
I’d be happier to see a novel using a video game as a lens, rather than a video game with a story. I can’t get over how good Diablo was, and I never said I hated Diablo II, but I DO know what I’m talking about.
Yes the new characters where fun to play, as for leaving them alone, the game designers didn’t. They messed with them to the point where you couldn’t do anything cool with them anymore. I go back to citing Piercing arrow + guided arrow. Why would they get rid of that?
I’m still waiting for an MMORPG that can do it right. I want a story that never gets old, not a game that never ends. I just hope the guys at blizzard remember what made the first game so awesome. I’m impressed by quality not quantity. I want the horror back in the game, I want the fear, the torment, I want to run SCREAMING BLOODY MURDER down dark hallways where unspeakable monstrocities feast upon the corpses of my fallen comrades back in the game. I want this game to be the unbrittled cold-sweat-midnight even Diablo couldn’t muster. Nightmares man, NIGHTMARES.
I want this MMORPG to be the greatest horror game ever concieved. I want a game I can’t play in one sitting simply because I have to turn the thing off before I go psychotic. A cult classic (if there was ever a better term to describe Diablo) to rock the ages. I want this game to be more concerned with making you feel like you’re a blip in the cosmic clashing forces, more concerned with wrapping you in the story, more concerned with day to day life living on a continent who’s fate is baubled between the fingers of the living embodiement of everything mortal man wasn’t meant to know. Dialbo, the Lord of Terror.
their will be any changes on characters and gameplay? so can you tell me… i am too eager to kick diablo’s asses…..
Hey Some Guy, I agree with your opening paragraph but that’s all I read because it’s entirely too long. I am longing for the feeling i got when I first played Diablo in the dark with the volume high. Twas’ indeed frighting.
\
I think the Blizz knows how anticipation pays off in the end- because when it comes, were gonna be like YEEEEES! IT”S FINALLY HERE.
After all, what’s the sex with out the foreplay?
i think what would make the characters better would be if u could choose the gender…like male and female barb and all…thats almost all the game is really missing…and it would be sweet if u could customize the charaters a lil more…like facial wise and maybe a few tattoos or something
OK some guy u are anoyying first of all and the gender dont really matter to me…
wut i was just talking about to my friend was maybe we could use 2-3 mercs and not just one, that would be cool but could also add alittle more lag.
and y put tattoos or somthing on a char is u cant see them? kinda weird
wut would be cool is maybe add more skills or more things u can add to and maybe even a higher lvl
thats my opinion and WojO oUt
i got addicted and played diablo 2 lod for about 2 years and its fun
but just gets boring somtimes
my point is that it needs somthing BIG that will excite anyone and everyone anywere and everywere
idk it sounded cool so i added it
Dude. If your going to make a Diablo 3 you need to give people a choice on what color and gender they want on all of your characters.
But hay, sweet. Hope it comes out soon
James, I think you\’re right - customization of the character is key. Check out Hellgate London - they\’re doing some pretty good customizations in terms of color schemes, different types of armors combining to create a unique look.
Well I dont personally care if I’m annoying. Who ever you are with your extremely short and pointless post. Dont lash out at creative insight when the most you can come up with is “more skills.” Innovative! Brilliant! More skills…no. Why dont you actually try making an arguement like Diablo did?
I found his post informative. Gizmo at least bit me.
Customization for a Porg Is practically manditory. If Diablo 3 is going to be anything like any other Porg out there its most definitly going to have gender choice. I doubt that’s going to be a key defining feature of the game though. I’m almost cringing at what they might do with the universe if they’re heading in the non-horror direction similar to Diablo 2.
I’m not saying Diablo 2 sucked at all. It was fun to play on its own (which is how games should be played), but if you pair it up to Diablo, it was just a big let down in the horror department, this being my own opinion that I dont expect anyone to share with me. Diablo - Lord of Terror - Terrifying game. I’d assume they could have at least changed the title to Baal - Lord of Destruction.
Sure, Hell looked cooler, and….more hellish…it just wasn’t scary though.
I’m really hoping this turns out to be a Porg with strong horror elements and none of that “Can you collect 20 chicken eggs for me? I’ll give you this enchanted frying pan iff’n ja do” crud. I could play Ragnarok, Guildwars or runescape for that. I once had a conversation with a sad fellow who couldn’t come to grips that you can have a Porg without these stupid insigificant quests. I’m not sure how you guys will handle this, but in other Porg communities they bite your head off when you come up with crazy notions like a game without grinding.
If they make a Porg its got to include a whole bunch of elements I couldn’t get from any other game. What this USUALLY means however is some sort of complicated trivial game mechanic that doesn’t do anything for actual gameplay besides extend the amount of time before you actually start having fun.
Another thing to note is story line. In Diablo, after you cleaned out the demon nest in the water cavern, that was it. No more demons there. In Porgs, you can go in there a million times and kill everything, even after the quest was completed. I find this ruins the mood and feel of the accomplishment…wow…I killed all the demons…again.
Here’s a question for the community. Would it change Diablo’s appeal if it was in an over the shoulder first person view?
I actually think I like this community. my mega post was taken in good stride and people actually had things to say other than “OMFG NOOB GTFO KTHXBAI” I still think Gizmo is ebil…ebil wid a B o_O
And Kane I encourage you to finish reading my post.
It may have some items of interest you may or may not agree with. Aside from that, my friends thought it was an interesting read before they foudn out I wrote it. >:D
Even though a few of them are hopelessly lost on the fact that grinding isn’t fun…a thought I cringe upon. Oh how I hope to the gaming gods diablo doesn’t have a farmer’s quest >.
Indeed
But if someone try’s to make a Male Amazon then i’ve lost hope for this and every other game out there. i say we let them have there genders, but leave out the gender specific ones. IE the Amazons, and probably anything else that strikes the fancy of the Hermaphro-players out there. i just hope to got that all the females in the game arent wearing metal bikini’s. test my metal but not my crotchplate. force people to play a game instead of a cheap peep show.
I played a dwarf (hunter) in WoW and I couldn’t IMAGINE myself being a female. Female dwarfs suck (no pun intended).
However, I did see one female dwarf (somewhere in Ashara) and it didn’t look THAT bad. So although I’ll never make the same choice myself, others did it.
For the life of me, I could never be a Night Elf male either.
2007 it is!
some guy u suck balls u type too much fucker
I hope they make a new ninja, thats way better then the last one on the expansion.i think it would also be cool to have a final fantasy style team option also.
being able to customize the gender and looks would be cool
I just had to say this … Some Guy you are the man ! You have saved me a lot of writting (and staring at dictionary because my english sucks). Diablo 1 had(has) enormous amounts of potenial (climate). All monsters were diffrent had their habits tactics story! (oh I can remember the frightening battle against The Butcher in demo version this was like whole campaning to kill this beast. The fear before opening those doors a shock after hearing his taunt even already knowing what is going to happen and being well preapared had some powerfull scrolls bought from this greedy witch Adria couldnt slow down my heartbeat and decrease the thirll. And it was only the begining) in diablo 2 I dont really even think about what Im killing just look at immunites (unless I dont play hammer then I just click the button). Ill stop comparing here because most of things were written by Some Guy earlier (I just had to write atleast one thing) and this isnt really place to talk about what is missing in diablo 2 but what we would like to see in diablo 3 (precisely characters).
angels to limit humans powers so they wont be tempted by the “dark side”. Humans will be more powerfull but more capable to become evil ones) but please save me things like oh you are other fraction so I cant talk/trade with you and in addition I automatically hate you and of course the most stupid thing wich is apearing in most mmorpgs fraction should be something that you chose/gain by your actions/decisions not by clicking proper option at character creation screen or by killing loads of somehow bad/good monsters (yeah Im paladin of light so what if I spend all day long grinding pigs and backstabing weakened players or from the other hand fear me Im dark lord of primal evil Ive killed 666 good faeries!) and it is your bussines to wich (if any) purpose you serve and people shouldnt know that you are bad because you have red instead of blue name. There should be at last 3 fractions “good”(those bigotrgic angels) “evil” (vilians but for me good and evil in most stories is only predetermined point of view) and neutral (sober-minded people not some fanatics) there can be ofcourse some fallen angels rebelious demons etc.
For me there should be fraction/character system implemented (after destruction of Worldstone wich supposed to be created by “tutelary”
I think all d2 characters would do (but Im missing good old warrior not some stupid barbariand or blockheaded paladin) there can be new ones like for instance demonologist (Summon/enslave demons! Use fearsome destructive spells wich will annihilate your foes ! Adopt demonic powers and shape your body into frightening manifestation of infernal power flowing within your veins and soul (If you still have one) ! yeah I know you wanna pre-order already :P) of course demonologists shouldnt have to be evil from the begining but will have to watch out to not become one of the beasts with wich they are fighting (as every class).
There is a lot of other things that I would like to say but unfortunately I/you dont have all day long to write/read all of this.
ZzZzZz, this noob forum has bored me, ZzZzZz
I actually think that Diablo II was better than the first. For me, anyways. I found that I could play it more often than the first. There weren’t as many creatures in the original than in the 2nd, which totally fucked up my levelling. Plus, I figured since I beat it once already (which took me two solid days) that I didn’t need to play it again.
I just like D2 better because you can actually RUN. Walking around is time consuming, and pisses me off. Sometimes I like life better in the fast lane…
diablo 2 pwns all and i give it A+ all the way . yes diablo 1 was good especially with the butcher at start where he is as hard as fightin uber dia in d2 at lvl 40 or sumthin. btw anyone wantin a duel on d2 europe ladder or nl and needs some competition just msg me acc is happychap =P
and another thing that i didnt liek about the 1st dia .. you had to walk… -.- but in d2 you can run which makes things easier and quicker.
howdy peeps. i agree with kevin. it would kick ass to have customizable character. also if they keep the cow lvl but changed it per difficulty lvl like to satanic bunnies or something that would be the shit!!! if they could make character lvls infinite and bring in your old character like blizzard did for Champions Return to Arms.
Diablo 2 was far superior
the replay value was amazing, with the amazing diversity between each class
also the items is what makes diablo 2 such a fantastic game, no character is the same, as they all have different equipment, at leas thats what i have found playing single player
Hey hey i think that WOW is kinda dull compared to D3 well they bolth match in rating to me,
i think that WOW should have more lvls like up to 99 lvls or upto 99+ lvls…
:) Yeah that what i think…. If u dont like my Reply then reply to me then i hope il get to u soon
:)
:)
-|BcA|-Stalker
Thats my CS:S name : CS:S = Counter Strike Source
LOL
:)
:(

WOW is pretty good, I dont know about Diablo 3!!!!!!!!!
what the hell, diablo 3 is good, if the second was good this one is good to
some guy true statments dog but d2 is a+ too man. Sure it has flaws but doesn’t d1? example: d2: rushing wreks the game; like some noob getting lvled by a lvl 99, d1: cloneing wrecks the game why the f did blizz alow cloning for so many patches? d2: game more about trading than killing monsters d1: too much walking; half the time u walking than killin some monsters, d2: alot of gay unused spells (only used by noobs), d1: only one set of spells that all 3 chars hav to share. i can write more but i cant b fuked. IF D3 = MMO THEN JONNY K=EMO plz blizz dont turn d3 mmo your ull be responsible for my wrists
Diablo 2 is by far the most kick ass game i have ever played in my life and i cant wait till they make a diablo 3 and actually put it on the shelves because im gonna steal all the money from my friends and parents and girlfriend and get it……YA MOMMAS
sup when u going to tell the date omg lol and i realy wont to see the chars!!! plz msg lol i realy wont to no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
In terms of characters, it may sound awful, can there be a pure summoner, healer as always said (less likely), a pure caster nor even anything said out there, but can there be also a pure melee where it cannot use bow, not a pure range that cannot use melee weapons?
with all the discussion about characters, is there a way to have new weapons too? i mean like a weapon that is not too close range and not too long range? the pikes and scythes and others are long but the distance is compared to swords.
How about the new event that appeared for diablo2? it was nice too and needed to say that the challenge is good.
Another is about those Assistants called HIRELINGS at each town, that is good and acceptable. Is there a new Hirelings like monsters that level up too?
But having all that rucus, can you fix the character editor? i mean having an editor to showoff is cool but would it be better for having limited playing source like it can only be played at single player and cannot be used in multiplayer?
But with all these It is nice to add diablo3 to followup that last movie when BAAL take his soulstone.
AN ON TOP OF ALL. . . DAMN YOU!!! Hahaha this is a great game!
well one problem the guys that created diablo they have left blizzard and started ther on game studio flagship and they are going to reales hellgate london and i hope that blizzard dont influens to mutch from wow now..
The gladiator sound good. Good combat skill and melee finess sounds. Sounds better than the warrior or barbarian. Could look more like a roman soildier. There should be more than one warrior than can dual wield weapons though. Maybee a ranged specialist that can change two wield two weak but fast knives or shortswords. Thankyou.
D3 better be free on the net , not like wow.
i so hope there will be new chars in d3 i am tyred of the same old chars like trolls or some thing in that gen areaor maybe dragons? that would be sweet vampires or some thing o man i can go on for days lol so i leave it at that
What I would like to see is both the Diablo one and two characters brought back with custom options that would really make the game really bad ass. Just a matter of opinion. Now I’m going back on D1 and go kill Diablo with my sorcerer, then my rogue, and then my warrior. I do enjoy the second one but, still, I have say that D1 is the best one. You just can never beat the first of a series. Yes there will be more selections and higher quality but it’s the original that started it all. You all can say what you want about my statement, I don’t care.
I completely agree with guy
In D2 i spent most of my time in one dungeon the monsters over and over just to go up a level to face a boss.
But in D1 you couldn’t do that. You had to fight your way through the dungeon (without some high level guy every monster in sight and calling you noob) and when you get to the end and have to face something as frightening as the butcher, you werent already level 20 with some fancy armor and weapons. you had a sword and a brain. And you had to use them well.
Even though my post isnt as long as Guys, id like to say that they can go ahead and make D3 a mmo (face it, D2 is an mmo). But they could also make D3 just like D1. indepth story, horrifying. But they and combine it with D2 by giving you a choice to go online. And in single player, you cant grind but you can grind all you want online. That would have me right away.
i liked diablo 1 and i luved diablo2 but i hope its more like diablo 2
Hmmm, I think that a few of you should try playing the first one again (including the Hellfire expansion) and realize that you need to pull your heads out of your asses. It was a great game for its time and paved the road for D2 and similar games, and thats where the point can end. It was also slow and narrow minded in comparison to D2. Oh, by the way, it was also multiplayer, which several of you seem to have forgotten (yes, I’m talking to the essay winners above.) D1 also had some of those annoying or “grinding” little “side quests” that you had to complete to get ahead (like better armor and such.) D2 gave us more of everything, some good some not as good, and I’m sure that D3 will give us even more. So do everyone a small favor and allow yourself to breath some fresh air, and maybe give it a chance before you continue to pick it apart.
Sorry no witty quip to end the rant.
Sorry in advance but i didnt have enough time to read this whole forum because it was new year’s day and my girlfriend was asking me to stop reading it
I agree with some guy’s views on D1 and D2 especially in terms of tactics, but D2 has its merits too.. especially in that the merchants save your skin at the start (if you dont multiplay), but really the story was awful.
As for Online gaming.. it can be pretty good if you dont abuse it.. I played D1, D2, Guildwars and WoW.. and you just have to take each as a different thing.. but WoW i found to be seriously lacking… actually I’ve recently been playing Elder Scrolls 4 and I’d quite like to see an online RPG like that…except where there is no system whereby the game sets the difficulty of random encounters to be vanquishable by someone of your level.. random encoutners should be random.. even if it means you have to run for your life screaming like a sissy and hoping they pick on someone else while you hide behind a rock thinking about how you are going to get away from this alive…
I dont want a no brain game..
as for the classes and the gender deciscions you can have certain mutual classes and things like that but what about a system where you actually have to do something to merit being the class that you want…
join a school of magic and a school of war to be a fighter/mage blend.. etc… but i still think that finding tomes and being taught stuff is a better than inatley knowing that these are hte skills that you will have.. wouldnt it be much more fun knowing that you could find (1/1000 chance) a tome of kill everything (lame name but it reflects the ability) but would only achieve spell level 1 by the time some other guy had found 20 tomes of bad breath (1/50 chance) which would balance things out… not that im an advocate of balancing things.. but i am an advocate of the choices we make making each of us different.. and what i would love to see is everyone starting as a joe (or janet) bloggs (doe) and starting with pretty much the same starting abilities.. a bit like in gothic 2… anyways thats my thought.. like it or lump it.. but i think the time to balance is at the start of the game.. not at the end.. thats just plain stupid..
good players are better than bad ones.. let the choices they make reflect that
i look forward to D3 but i won’t be surprised if it isnt what i expected..
i just hope that it challenges me mentally
sun tzu said: good warriors prepare for victory then go to war, poor warriors go to war then seek victory
Who cares about making your own chars just make higher levels new classes new spells new monsters harder bosses and its a hit for me.
I think that Guy 1 is right. But i have an interesting side of the story, I played diablo 2 first, but when i got bored i started playing diablo 1 and got very addicted. I think if they combined both games together we would end up with a great diablo 3 (in my opinion). If they took the runes, crafting RUNNING, trading, lvling, and grinding side quests. And they combined it with the in-depth story, and the ever class can use all the weapons and the cunning and thrilling action and horror of the first diablo. I think if they did that, that diablo 3 would be the greatest game ever to be published by blizzard and would be loved by all kinds of gamers.
Thanks,
Mike Hunt
dude i hope they dont make it an mmorpg. well at least not like wOw where you have to pay 15 bucks a month.
Some guy i soooo go wiht ur idea, it will be more exciting if the game was more frightening not just running around killing dudes doe no reason…i want the game to give me a scare i mean diablo 2 is great but findin and learnin the skills is more realilistic other than havin magically apeear i mean wtf? id he just find a invisible note or sumtin?? Altought i never played diablo 1 it does sound like a awsome game….
o also hate how when u finish a quest in d2 u can do it again..i mean like if u got assigned that quest why the f do u gotta do it again the towns people say “thank for killin blood raven” but when u go back WTF SHES THERE heh that really got to me…
DIABLO 3! i cant w8!!!! and all people shall know : diablo1 ROCKS! Diablo2 ROCKS EVEN MORRE!!!!! every1 hu disagrees shall shut up or grow up or kill him/herself!
DIABLO 3! i cant w8!!!! and all people shall know : diablo1 ROCKS! Diablo2 ROCKS EVEN MORRE!!!!! every1 hu disagrees shall shut up or grow up or kill him/herself!
about d3… i they make it like 20 chars some pure some mixed and LOOOTS of weapons and armor and make that u kan have like 5 mercenaries. they also need to add lots of stuff like:
make it so u can buy good stuff in stores. coz i mean there is no use of having bunch of money if only way u can buy good items is gambling.
they have to make that u can wear like 2 or more amulets or rings and that kind of stuff. i mean really chars have 10 fingers so why wear only 2 rings?
they also need to make it like that u can be infinetly high lvl, because it sucks that u cant go higher then 99.
they need to make that u can MAKE stuff like brew health potions or enchant white stuff to blue. it just sucks that u can only kill monstrs or buy for stuff like that
they DONT need to make it 3d grafics are alrready good and theyr 3d SUCKS!
there is also bunch of things that they need to do but i m 2 lazy to list them all so TELL ME WHEN ITS RELEASED OMG OMG OMG I CAN WAIT!
i cant wait for diablo 3!!
there better be a sorceress in there or srew the whole fuckin game
^^
when is it comeing out?man plzzz some1 tell me!!!!!!!!!!!:(
all hail some guy
some guy should recieve a kik to the balls by every 1 that has to read his on and on crap!!!
d2 will be bored easier than d1, story boring and damn huge map, except cool item , but wat use if cool item that can hack ur way through the gm since u can easilly kill everyone.
hope d3 increase in game pace n mysterious.
i dont hope that all quest can be solve by walkthrough , its better by obtaining tips through game.(everytimes the quest is random generated.)
english bad lol
I generally agree with Some guy’s assessment of Diablo 1 and 2. Diablo 1 offered a more complete and memorable gaming experience than Diablo 2. Diablo 2 was an excellent game for sure and I enjoyed playing it a lot. But the first Diablo was a whole lot scarier, the plot was superior to Diablo 2, and the gameplay was such that once you begin playing the hero character you didn’t want to stop until you finally finish off Diablo. Diablo was totally addictive.
this is cool
what about, everybody starts as a “person” and becomes a class! the more clubbing and beating they do makes them a barbarian or whatever shade of grey you’d like the more throwing things at pplz, the more dealings with undead whatver, it should shape your character into a class, not be predetermined
by the way, dont make it a MMO coz it would suck and if they would make you pay to play SCREWTHEM, HTEIR MOMMAS AND THE GAME! and some gAy, you shall kill yourself coz u r a dumb piece of shit all diablos rock and if u, mother something, disagree, i would make u suck your own balls and bite something off and then torture u .
i LIKE # 1 AND 2.#1 is somewhat cool.I remember when i thought it had good graphics.LOL.I also thought it was annoying every time you clicked on griswald he says Weaw what can i do for you .I now what you can do for me Griswald.SHOVE A SWORD UP YOUR FAT ASS.I thought it sucked that all of #1 was just one dungeon. When I watched my friend play #2 I thought it was the coolest game in the world.LOL.My other friend bought the game and coppied it for me.YAY.My computer at the time was a windows 98.LAGGED ALL THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!.Thank god it crashed.I just got a new dell for christmas2006.Im wating do buy the game 4 myself in the box.But then again ive been playing this game at my friends house and is starting to suck ass. Then I heard theyre making #3!!!!.YAY.YEAH RIGHT.After I beat the game ill play another character and beat it again.play battle net with #3.Download #3hero editor after I get bored outta my ass.By then Ill be 16 and have a job and be to buisy with makin big dough.by then #4 will be coming out.Yay just another game with the same story line.Ill probably still buy it.Do you people realize how long ago they made #1 .10 YEARS!!!!!!What makes you think theyll be coming out with#3 within a few months you impatient bastards.#2 used to be really cool like the sound effect when you travel to a waypoint.Or the quest you had but didnt know what they were.Or the towns that were there but didnt explore them all. When #3 comes out youll all be playin it all the time and be bored with it then start talkin shit about#2 then be watin for#4 after a few months.By the way Did you read this far??HAHA!!!!!Read my post
I heard the ceo of blizzard say there is gonna be 3 new releases in 2007.Im guessing Starcraft 2,wow expansion,And D3
Hmmm… I really hope D3 will come out, but from what i heard blizz North Closed, kinda hard for D3 to surface tho. Anyway why isn’t anyone talkin about tyrael lol. There are plenty of rumours that if D3 were to come he would be the main villian along with the 2 Yet-To-Be-Seen lesser evils, Azmodan and Belial.
I remember when i first entered the dungeon in diablo 1, and after some minuites i died because of these scary skeletons. i couldn’t sleep after that. it was so traumatizing. and the music of diablo 1 kept on playing in mind. i was so scared that when i played it again my hands were as cold as ice. and the butcher..the butcher!!!
diablo 2 is not as scary as diablo 1 but the character skills are cool.
i just hope that diablo 3 is as scary as diablo 1.
Lol it aint that scary my friend has it and i created a necro. I havent played online really. If they make a Diablo like wow they should not have monthly fees monthly fees are gay as hell. I think it could be a really good game. If they make it well enough maybe even better than guild wars.
Heh….. i hope its fun….. well i own warcraft the frozen throne and its fun. I dont own wow i hate it. the monthly fees
soo when is it rlly coming out am rdy to jack it rofl!
get rid of the sword of tyrael who fell below the tomb
maybe the dark wanderer took the great sword while Tyrael is on battle w/ Baal… But the question is where did he placed it? the poor angel’s sword is missing! It’s a Quest…. why?.. why is it difficult for the angels to fight the evil forces? I suggest an ANGEL character, give them a chance to be a hero this time! They’re supposed to be stronger than the mortals… get rid of it!!!
yeah! I agree, a gladiator is fine and sounds interesting, replaces a warrior & the barbarian…. but, how about a vampire hunter like the Belmont clan. if you were aware of konami’s masterpiece.. equiped w/ a whip as his major weapon, some holy items and magical relics….somethin like that! and/or a vampire character who’s turning into a beast and different kind of creature’s, casting dark spells and allied w/ horrible monsters! what do ya think?… … bad idea isnt? he he he.. ho ho..
i dont care what its like as long as it is free to play online.
i dont see why the new patch doesnt come out with new skills, and a couple new items, i mean how hard would that be? I mean if you can make an uber tristram why cant you make a new helmet, SOMETHING COOL!
how many chars will there be and what will they be…
what about a more aggresive(barb), some sort off tank, druid, assassin(light but fast attacks), sorc, necromanser, healer and a big open world…. more classes and char apperence.. “”"World of diablo”"”
dude some guy, i admire what you posted.
i believe that characters that share skills and abilities is boring. i believe that a good game doesnt have 5-7 cliche characters. i believe that a GOOD (i emphasize good because ive yet to find a good computor game) game has 3-4 characters that are original, that have some uniqueness compared to the other characters in the game, and compared to other games with similar characters.
For example, i wish the necro was pure summoner or pure poison or bone, a hybrid of the three just ruins him. the warrior or barb should not be able able to use long range weapons unless its spears that can be thrown, because a barb in himself lacks the dexterity, and the soft touch required for a accurate bow. Also mages should be split into two-three characters. a healer/ preist, a elemental mage that only uses one or two of the elements, not all three. (see maple story for best example in my opinion for mages layout)
If it were up to me, (and keep in mind i am a senior in hs, i do not have some huge degree in engineering or what have you, im simplying basing this on personal preference) I would engineer the characters as follows:
Assassin- capable of using bows and daggers and katars, nothign else, traps are more realistic, like a explosion or something, and they concentrate more on stealth and poison and killing monsters secretely than anything else.
Monk- Healer, uses no weapons except for perhaps a staff, uses magic to cure, heal, and uses holy to damamge only undead or demonic monsters, and uses abilities to enchant oneself with holy damage on fists or what have you. uses vials and empty bottles and herbs to create healing potions, which is how he heals, i do not believe in using a heal spell, thats boring, lets be a little original shall we? lets use remedies and magic to make healing pots.
Gladiator- Melee tank character, uses weapons swords, shields, spears, and javis. nothing else, his long range comes from spears and javis no bows. Typical warrior or barb character follows his layout.
wiazard- i firmly believe the wizard class should be separated into two different wizards, one with wind/fire, the other with lightening/ water. Wind attacks are like, hurricane for the druid, and water is like ice attacks for the sorc. Maple story has a similar layout as this and i think its better because having one wizard controlling all elements is soo cliche and so boring, but it takes skil to only weild two or one element and still be a strong character. As for weapons, standard wizard weapons aply, wands, orbs etc…
Witch doctor- uses home mad potions, and summons monster to do his will. represents a summoner with earth property magic locked within his potions. pure summoner, and uses potions, and other home made remedies to acheieve his ways. this character would force blizzard to put vials, and empty bottles into their game which would vastly improve gameplay for the witch docter. summons twisted monsters to battle the other twisted, demonic monsters of the diablo universe. fetishes, and what not. No hand weapons are used, only has earth elemental powers locked away in his herbs and empty vials and pots he collects which he then combines to create potions with attacks like: poison gas, created by collecting poison flower petals and a empty vial and combining to create poison gas attack.
this is just how i would arrange a game, because diablo two was a great game, but the characters were too split apart, two characters like the sin and the zon couldve been combined into a real assasin character. Also concentrate more on each characters strengths, the sin in d2 expansion was not sneaky enough for me, i wish there was more invisibility and dagger stabbing from him and less summon traps and sit back and watch them kill everything. And split the mages, trust me u wont regret it.
thanx for reading guys, appreciate it
a good awsome rpg to play is called enclave. play that game and blizzard should base their characters like that. same play style, and same characters base. except the sorc. the sorc in that game sux ass. but the sin and barb are amazing!
Hey Hates MMorpgs
You’re an idiot
1.characters that have 3 different speculations is good so you don’t see the same people every day.
2.Hybrid never ruins a game, Notice thats why you never see a barb using a bow because of that, and but some like to dual-wield so yeah, people can do what they want with there characters you don’t have to tell the makers what to do, to make YOUR (crappy) good game.
3. the classes division…
(A) Assassin is MELEE, the Zon RANGE, one uses bows and arrows to kill, the other uses melee. too be honest that is the most over powered class you’d see. Blizzard wouldn’t make a 2 classes if they were meant for the same thing.
(B)Some weapons give different effects depending on what it is, you should know that if you’re such a game expert.
(C)Gladiator….Paladins? w/e no matter they can use what they want, too be honest, if they want to go off class then sure. some tank classes use massive two handers to solo.
(D) wind? Nature = Druid…and sorc had Fire,ice, lightening.
(E)Witch doctors… those wouldn’t be a summoners, i see them more like shamans, maybe spirits, but i don’t see them as Pure summoners, and with casters… you never hack in slash unless its a slight hybrid.
Diablo 2 characters weren’t split apart at all they all had there own class speculations, combining sin(Rogue) and Amazon(Marksmin) would make one op class, Maybe sin wasn’t suppose to be so sneaky, maybe it was mostly a trap and ambush…Mages were split idiot, One elemental mage (Sorc), one caster set in the way of Nature, and shapeshifting (Druid) and one in Necro, undead summoners and affliction.
Too me, i think your post was the biggest waste of time, and to try to judge classes before the game is even out, thinking you can make the game how you’d like i don’t see that either, Diablo 2 had a good system and if they add the same one in this one it’ll still be good, just deal with what happens.
Now i must say they shouldn’t make this game a MMo though
ok d2 is also a single player game.. and the bs about having all 3 trees to lvl off of… check ur fuckin skill points you can mayb make a hybrid of 2 trees but even then only 1 is gonna be maxed so stop complaining that omg the sorc can do all elements… not really its what you choose to lvl n usually u pick 1 as main 2nd as… w/e the fuck u want it for, a 2ndary main or for example a summoning necro with poison nova… yea i use that nova when im surrounded then run away while a few things die n summon some more to keep me from dieing… fuck… and yea d3 is awesome d2 is deadly and d1 had its moments but being a good story is just that its a good story.. lets moove on a game is a game meant to be played not there to give ya a bunch of fuckin storyline… n at least d2 holds its story line u ppl shuld be complaining about zelda or sum shit have u ever tried to figure which is the sequel/prequel to which? it dont make sence n tetre/sheik/zelda… 1 person how is link that fuckin stupid
1 more thing d3 is like d2 no mmorpg bs theres only been 2 chars that have been publicly announced n they are… re-released barb and a witch doctor male n female r choices. the game includes bosses sub bosses and mini bosses just go to the blizzard website the game looks fantastic nice amounts of blood great enviro detail n the skill switch is great acceseble with a scroll wheel or the tab button to switch thru… get tired of whirlwind just scroll down n select a new attack… kinda like weapon switch on fps games like halflife/2… and for that retarded remark on the dark wanderer.. he is diablo.. u just decide to not load the cinematic disks or what?
Some Guy you are my inspiration me and my family (a.k.a. DAD) have played diablo 1 and 2 and i remeber spending hours one 1 and on 2 just trying to level id find a decent spot go there totally grind for hours on mobs that respawn and are very easy to kill… i could play WoW for this i believe that as a choice for gamers that blizzard should let you have a choice play multi for grinding and respawning and single for a good story with a solid ending this would of course have to be a very long campaign and they should keep online chars separate from single player 1’s ill break down diablo 1 and 2
Diablo #1
this has a limited multiplayer but is mainly focused on a great story and good items its more realistic once you kill the zombie the zombie do not come back yes we had stats and levels but they were more limited to challenge us as players and that is what makes it a good game walking has it advantages too it takes more time to go from place to place(more realistic) im sure youre not running 24/7 why should you’re character it was horrific the blood the gore the things that pop out of nowhere just to piss you off and when you do youre finishing blow the head of the zombie flies off the classes were very unique the Melee Class Ranged Class and Spell Class this actually makes each character an individual and not oh well this is a good power for my mage i wonder if my rouge has it…(less realistic) no not in D1 they were individual and guess what there was a distict funtion of each class not healer/fighter and not warrior/ranger ummm wait i wanted to do melee why do i havea bow in my hand again….(less realistic) real warriors actually trained and chose our favorite weapon sword spear scyth 2h sword this is what it is like for D1(more realistic) if you were fighting undead creature isnt blood and gore and so much more so much more realistic!!! especially if youre fighting the god of hatred and his un(dead) army shouldnt there be corpses and blood everywhere D2 took this feature out i remember being so scared to death when somin popped out at me i hit the pause button so fast to make it stop
Diablo 2:
i will take a quote from one of their reveiws
“while Diablo was concentrated on storyline Diablo 2 was more for the multiplayer function of the game” we expected a gore filled game not im out in the middle of the desert lets kill this scorpion 400 times so i can get that awesome spell i wanted diablo 2s only job and goal was to fill in holes from D1 not take it up a knotch in another chapter its more like an extension that explains D1 if you wanted action that suprises thrills scares and drives you forward than stick with diablo 1 if you wanted to call everyone 5 levels below you a n00b go to diablo 2 and if you wanted more mixed not distinct classes and if you want to kill the same monster in the same spot with the exact same weapons in the exact same spot forever so you have a high enough levelto get that level 37 spell you saw some other character using go with diablo 2
Honestly people who likes grinding anyway… its boring as H3ll
heres my definiton of an mmorpg
MMORPG:
a game with massive population that features a party system, clans, other players with same skills level rankings among players and an endless supply of monsters with the same XP EXP or experience which often lagggggggggs your character may get killed by other players with a PVP or plaer verus player system and to gain levels end up doing the same thing for hours at a time
Diablo 2 figured out if they could steer towards mmorpg qualities more masses of buyers and subscriber would come therefore ruining a perfect game to make more $$$ and to make a game so repetitive that evantually player would get bored so give away characters on ebay for free or sell the game and characters
sorry if D3 is anything like its predecessor Diablo 2 you will be very disappointed
Diablo 3 classes so far are the old fashion barbarian and a new class, the Witch Doctor! See for yourself at http://www.blizzard.com/diablo3 . If anyone hears about another class please post it because I am dying to hear of the other three. =)
First of all Diablo One and its expansion are not considered Horror games they are RPG dungeon games. There have been many of these games created over the course of time, and the fact of it being scary or not does not mean anything. if any of you where actually scared by Diablo then you should go back and play the game one more time because the game isn’t actually scary and i played it when i was nine, i can’t see why any of you should think the same thing. Secondly Diablo 2 is one of the best RPG games ever created and it didnt have different Genders. And regardless of what people think or say Diablo 2 is one of the best games made in history because blizzard was accually able to keep a player base long enough to make a 3. So i’m sure “Some guy” that there are more people on this planet that think this game is going to rock and that Diablo 2 with out any doubt will be amazing. I have faith in Blizzards ablilty to make amazing games and they have yet to disappoint me.
I must agree with Peter about the fact that the Diablos where amazing and that Diablo 3 (!!!!) will be amazing. I was wondering if anyone knew about the other classes that will be in Diablo 3. My guess would be that the Necromancer will be replaced by the witch-doctor? My only hope is that it comes out fast.
Well that is all for now from me Diablers cya
A big NO NO for Diablo being a MMORPG. Please NO!!
Diablo 3 is NOT going to be an MMO… relax
im kewl
Diablo I was great, Diablo II was great. Diablo III is great. You are all forgetting one factor that made Diablo II amazing… THE COW LEVEL!
I hope III keeps the Gothic. That is what makes the game, its dark gothic, spooky feel while you play. Almost like a continous haunting that you enjoy. The sound track and dark feel are very important and need to be kept.
Also, its important to keep the solo option avalable. I like battle net play but solo can be cool also.
Charecters to think about when 4 is created are
Witch
Warlock
Shapeshifter
War Lord
One other thing, add difficulty options also.
Novis, Experianced, Hell.
I agree with Lord Necros and Some Guy (who posted his stuff about 2 years ago) I mean you kinda want a feeling of fear and adrenaline when u play a game like diablo… you don’t neccesarily wanna crap ur pants every time u turn a corner.. and yeah keep the gothic satanic feeling to it.. i honestly think the best part of the game is facing creatures from hell, i mean, it just feels really good killing a demon from hell then wiping his sanguine blood off your axe, sword, or whatever you used to kill him.
Oh and I really like the little movies it showed with breaking down walls and crap to kill monsters and the witch doctor’s wall of zombies and locust swarm thing. oh and I’m not exactly sure who posted this but i think he was right when he said u should make a demonologist class, you know like a combo of druid’s shapeshifting stuff but with demons and necromancer’s summoning and some spells from sorcerer/sorceress from D1 and D2.
Oh and before I go to sleep and forget this.. why is it that France or Europe or whatever got it before us honest Americans? I mean, what’s up with that? r u using them as ur lil guenei(don’t know how to spell it) pigs to test the game?
I see that this is the same barbarien from diablo 2 but he is little older
i an’t wait to see the game
While I agree that Diablo II suffered in terms of the scary atmosphere, the sheer extra amount of items and different areas and huge boss fights all made it so much grander in scheme. I also disagree that the single player suffered, I played solo almost the whole time and thoroughly enjoyed every step of the tale. This one is supposed to have an advanced randomized quest feature which will greatly enhance replayability even though this series is hugely replayable anyway. And from what I’ve seen of Diablo III, it looks like they’re mixing in some of the gory horror back into the game. That one shot of Diablo himself looks absolutely amazing and much more frightening than past incarnations.
As for returning classes… the more I think about it, the more it seems we’ll have almost the same thing as last time. The Witch Doctor is basically a revamped Necromancer, the Barbarian is the same, we’ll surely get a Sorceror type and an Amazon / Rogue type as well. The Paladin was my personal favorite and I hope something close to that appears in this one (maybe just Knight or Cavalier or Cleric, make him look a little different like the Witch Doctor). The real question to me is if they’ll have an expansion with extra classes after the game comes out in which case it’ll be fun to speculate on new ones.
I am most pleased to see that they retained the classic look and didn’t go for a straight up MMORPG. That would have ruined the entire thing for me but this looks like a natural upgrade to an already solid game. Add in the idea that we’ll have the normal quests along with random ones constantly being available, you could get lost in this one forever. Time for us to save the world one more time.
Dude get over it Diablo 1 was boringish but still alright 8/10
When D2 got freaking people playing for 9 freaking years straight and if u ever got bored of D2 wat do you do?!?!? you mess up ur account and see if u could restore it that was always fun or you could try and make your own overpowerd build for a palading or a sorceress or my personal favorite the druid but still D2 was the shizzle when it came to games that came out in 1999 so Diablo 2 was a unforgettable game that recieves a 10/10
i think diablo 3 should have about 10 types of characters no just 2 because people should have from what to chose.with just 2 characters people will get bored prety fast of this game.in diablo 2 i playied alot with amazon not with barbarian or sorceres.thats why i think this game (diablo3) should have more types of characters.anyway the graphics are good very good i can say so….i think i will play it…cya all. who want to talk with me will find me at tnd_cyrus@yahoo.com…:)
some guy, i was just passing by, but i couldnt leave without letting you know youre a complete idiot. yes diablo 1 had a better atmosphere, but do you really have to write a book out of the whole matter?? get a life, stop jerking off at your own words. you dont sound smart, you sound waaaaaay to geeky, and very repetitive. go back to school. fuck face. if it were up to you wed be playing the same game over and over again.
You are pathetic, stop whining!! Diablo 1 & 2 are both great games. Why does it seem that everyone wants Diablo 3 to be the same game a
