These aren’t as much assumptions as facts, Diablo 2 was the most played game when it came out, and that goes for the xpack as well. The game had great isometric graphics for when it was designed. But honestly, that was based on the artwork alone.

I understand where you are coming from because I’m there myself (do any of you remember how long it took to level from 1 to 50 on playstation?) I don’t agree on a lot of the things going on with this development process, mainly because it’s no longer the same people tha created the original game. Don’t forget, it wasn’t Blizzard that created Diablo, it was a development team that Vivendi acquired and renamed as Blizzard North.

Diablo was NEVER a Blizzard franchise, it was CONDOR, and honestly, any old fan that loved the game before is going to have a difficult time spotting the reasons with Diablo 3.

This isn’t the same Blizzard that we grew up with. What is 11 Mil x 15 x 5.5? You answer that, and you’ll find the total gross income from WoW subscriptions. It isn’t necessary. And is Battle.net even used anymore? Only the occasional gamer seeking to play StarCraft Brood War and Diablo 2 LoD ever go there. They are trying to incorporate it back into their business model.

Diablo – I know where you are getting at because I’m there also.

Perpetual development costs money. Be excited that this game won’t be thrown in the closet and forgotten about after it’s created. We will be getting new content with the ability to ‘carry over’ our original toon in D3 into the expansion.

BTW: I was in college when D1 came out and was a person who waited at walmart at midnight when D2 came out. I have been waiting and speculating for nearly a decade for this d@mn game. Please don’t pizz off your readers by throwing in your bs opinions. They’re not appreciated. Stick with the facts.

PS: Blizzard, I have $40 a year to give you for a yearly expansion. Please continue the good work.
