Diablo 3 beta – server busy error 37

If you have just got the email announcing the open beta weekend, you’ll probably be pretty disappointed to download the beta client only to be hit repeatedly with error 37 – server is busy.

I just managed to log in and was hit with the next error – error 34200. My guess is the game servers are still down, although the login servers are up.

Anyway, Blizzard are promising that with new update (that required the server restart), the capacity of the server will be increased, so don’t dispair but try again!

I managed to kill the Skeleton King mere minutes before the servers went down, so I guess I was lucky to have “defeated the Diablo III beta“!

Update: Frankly, Blizzard have done a very poor job of this stress test. I don’t remember any such problems 10+ years ago when I participated in the Diablo 2 stress test. Now, I am getting error 33 – Battle.net is down for maintenance (servers are down). How many more servers can there be – between me and the beta?

I notice a strange correlation – the further you go INTO the beta, the longer the errors become. 33 is Battle.net, 37 is servers busy but once you pass the login, it goes to 34200 and I think I even saw 36000+ error.

Update 2: It seems that the server errors have disappeared, so definitely try to login again!

Diablo 3 beta – error 3003 and error 37

If you have got the news about the Diablo 3 open beta weekend (a.k.a. stress test), you have probably started downloading the beta client already.

The problem is once you have the download complete – Blizzard explicitly stated you need to wait to 100% and not click play before that – you will probably not be able to log in. Welcome to error message 3003 (login problems) and error 37 (servers busy).

Even Diablo’s technical forum is filled with complaints about the 3003 error. It seems that the forum servers themselves are running pretty slow and posting is next to impossible.

Update: Since only the EU servers are up and running, make sure you select EUROPE! Go to Options > account > server region selection > europe.

Update 2: Actually, the US servers are now up so go ahead and try them instead. I just managed to log in and create a barbarian! Go to Options > account > server region selection > america.

Diablo 3 open beta weekend

Diablo 3 has an open beta weekend this weekend! The only requirement is to have an active Battle.net account, so go ahead and join us in the Diablo 3 beta.

For more info head over to the Diablo 3 website, or you can start downloading now!

Update: Blizzard have stated that a Battle.net account is no longer required, i.e. you can register for one for free.

Update 2: The EU servers seem to be up and running, but it seems that battle.net login servers are too busy to process all the login requests. A lot of people are getting various login errors. Here’s the breaking news though, the servers are UP!

New 275,000 Diablo 3 invites

According to Blizzard, new beta invites have been sent out. Because of the sheer number of invites, they have stated that it might take a while for everyone to get their invites in their mailboxes. So they recommend you check your Battle.net account page.

We’re in the process of sending out 275,000 Diablo III beta invites to our opt-in testers. As it’ll take us a while to notify all the lucky invitees, we recommend heading to your Battle.net Account Management and seeing if you’ve received a Diablo III beta license. If you have, you’re good to go! Download the beta client and use your Battle.net account and password to log in once it’s installed…

Keep in mind that with such a large amount of invites for our test hardware we fully expect a strong possibility of stress test issues, such as an inability to log in, disconnections, and potential lag/latency. We’ll also be testing our queuing system ,which you may see when attempting to enter a game.

Update: This time some EU players have reported that they’ve received an invite, so for all of us here in the EU, that’s great news indeed!
