Diablo 2 Armor FAQ
New in D2: 3 new types of armour in Diablo
II
Diablo 2 introduces three new types of armour: gloves, belts,
and boots. At this time, all three appear to add a few AC point
each. It seems that the "AC-heavy" items will be the chest armour and the helmet.
New in D2: Heavy armour depletes Stamina more
quickly
Running with 70 pounds of armour on your back is tiresome to
say the least. In Diablo II, the weight of your armour will have
a direct impact on your Stamina "consumption." The heavier the
armour, the more Stamina you'll need when running away or after
monsters. The Sorceress and the Necromancer will have an especially
hard time if they equip a heavy armour since it will slow them
down and make them sitting ducks.
New in D2: Gems and Jewels will improve armour considerably
Both shields, armor and helms can be socketed with gems or jewels to improve their
characteristics. Overall, gems in shields will increase the shield's
defensive bonuses (E.g. your resistance to elemental attacks).
There will be the following gems: Amethysts, Diamonds, Emeralds,
Rubies, Topaz, Skull gems, and Sapphires. It's noteworthy that
depending on where you socket it (helm, shield, or weapon), each
gem will have a different effect. For example, a ruby socketed
in the helm will add to maximum life. When in a shield, the ruby
will add fire protection. Naturally, when in a weapon, the ruby
will add fire damage. |
